  1. Hm. Would this be considered polytheism then? I mean believing both in Osiris and God himself? Just asking. Though a Mormon will never admit it, they are polytheistic. They believe in multiple gods, that we will become gods, that there was a council of gods, etc. Thank you for your response. Yours was the only one that seemed to be serious. For the rest of you, a little humbleness goes a long way or does your bible not teach that? Again, I apologize if I offended anyone by my question. Thank you.
  2. Sorry, I should have specified. Biblicist gave us definitions of denominations and religions. So I guess you could say they were different Christian denominations that were confused on the subject of Jesus being Jehovah. Now, what I would like to know is who classified Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses as "non-Christian?" Anyone who makes that assumption is misinformed. But, as a Mormon, I enjoy being in my own "category." I realize that Morman's do not believe in the Trinity and believe that Jehovah is Jesus. So with that in mind and knowing you believe that God is separate, my simple question is "Where is God in the Hebrew Scriptures?" I am not trying to be smart, but no one has ever answered that question for me. Your question is strange to me. The God in the Hebrew Scriptures is right there, smack dab in the middle of it all! the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit are right there on every page. Well, the question probably has to be answered by a Morman. I agree it is a strange question. To explain, the Hebrew God is identified by NAME in the Hebrew Scriptures. Gods name is יהוה in Hebrew. The letters are translated YHWH in English. In most of the newer bibles of today, every place YHWH is written it has been replaced with LORD in Capital letters. The English version of Gods name is Jehovah. So back to my question. Does that clarify it?

  4. Little children would never pick up the "trinity" without being trained.
  5. Well, it is offensive to God. The Word of God reveals Jesus as God incarnate. John 1:1-5... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. As Jesus is the Word, I guess you will have to rethink some things.
  6. God the Father, God the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit are ONE. Deny that and you've got problems.
  7. I don't know why this causes so much apparent anger in you. The original post was in defense of the King James Version and I have no objection to the King James Version. The point is and was that Gods Name appears in the King James Version at Ps 83:18 and most Christians are in denial that is his name. Additionally, most King James Versions contain writing at the beginning or at the end of the bible that explains words to the effect that the word LORD in capital letters is the replacement for the original devine name of God. So why does this make you so angry. Forget the New World Translation if you object so strongly against it, just address Gods Name in your bible, the King James Version.
  8. The New World Translation does not take anything away from our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the son of God, nor does it add anything The New World Translation is different from the King James in one major way The New World Translation put Gods name back where it was in the original Hebrew scriptures, whereas the King James has removed Gods name to the extent of more than 6,500 times. What other name has been removed from the bible? Every place where LORD is written in Capital letters, is where Gods name was written in the original scriptures. This is not a translation, this is a removal. It is comparable to reading a detailed book about Microsoft and not seeing Bill Gates name. How would you feel if Jesus' name was removed and replaced with a word such as "Teacher"? None of us would like that! What effect does this have? Well most Christians would have a very hard time praying to their father in heaven by using his name. In Ps 83:18 in the KJ Bible, Gods name appears and is Jehovah. Now, test yourself, it is in your bible, Gods name is there, can you use Gods name when you pray to him? A question to ask yourself is why was it taken out of the New King James Version?? Do you think that is Okay? Jeramiah 10 vs 23 helps answer that question (King James Version) " O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." Another test you can do is to read Ex 3 Vs 14 and 15. When you read Vs 14 you will probably say that Gods name is I AM. Now to Vs 15. When you read Vs 15, put Gods name back in where it was taken out (where LORD is written in Capital Letters, put back Gods name Jehovah) and now answer the question what is Gods name, I AM or Jehovah? I AM is a descriptive term and can be translated I SHALL PROVE TO BE as in the New World Translation. Lastly, when you read the Psalms that give glory to God, put his name back in where LORD is in Capital letters and see if it is more personal for you. It is a glorious thing to recogize and praise our creator by using his name. My suggestion is to consult multiple versions of the bible but be sure to include the New World Translation.
  9. It is not about what is okay or not okay based on us humans but what is ok or not ok in Gods eyes. The scriptures are clear, being gay is not okay, neither is a fornicator (heterosexual) etc etc. So which is worse, the homosexual or the heterosexual fornicator? The answer is that neither will inherit Gods Kingdom. So, either we believe what is written in the bible or not. We either believe it is Gods word or we do not. Jeremiah 10 vs 23 explains: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. (King James) As to the comment, that many gay couples are more faithful than even Christians: That may be, but that doesn't make it right and I would ask, faithful to what? If they were faithful to Gods word, they would not be homosexual.
  10. Here is a link you may be interested in looking at: (link deleted) I prefer the New World Translation. I have discovered Gods Name and cannot understand why most other bibles have eliminated his name. (I actually do understand) I also do not agree with the justification used by others. The translators of several other bibles have removed Gods name and several today do not even make mention of what they have done. It seems to me that when people use their own bibles and read Ps 83:18, whereas they believe every other verse, when it comes to Gods name they reject it and it is in their bible. Christianity has led people away from Gods name. It needs to be restored and the New World Translation does that. The removal of Gods name causes confusion and error. One only has to read Ex 3 Vs 14-15 and ask themselves what is Gods name. Most will answer "I AM" because in Verse 16 Gods name has been replaced with LORD. If we put Jehovah back where LORD is written, it becomes clear what his name is and that I AM is a descritive term that also is translated "I shall prove to be". Gods name has been removed from most bibles in excess of 6,500 times. I always pray that I can let the Bible answer my questions and not rely on my own opinions. Jer 10Vs23. Hope this helps.
