  1. I hope everyone will watch the video linked from that site. What is his solution for Iraq? As it's said: "Criticism without a constructive alternative is merely complaining." Ron Paul quote and Link The truth is that Iran, like Iraq, is a third-world nation without a significant military. Nothing in history hints that she is likely to invade a neighboring country, let alone America or Israel. I am concerned, however, that a contrived Gulf of Tonkin- type incident may occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran. The best approach to Iran, and Syria for that matter, is to heed the advice of the Iraq Study Group Report, which states: "

  3. Tom, I have been fighting this battle on Worthy for a couple of years. I have offered to debate it in the Soapbox Debate. I have offered explanations to the verses sited by those who object to this view but never receive a reply. In short, you are wasting your effort. The scriptures clearly state the dead are "asleep" and will awake when Christ returns but Christians have been so indoctrinated they can't see it. They can't accept the comfort that Paul gave the Thessalonians in 1 Thes. 4:13-18. Their Blessed Hope is
  4. The Sceptic by Robert W. Service My Father Christmas passed away When I was barely seven. At twenty-one, alack-a-day, I lost my hope of heaven. Yet not in either lies the curse: The hell of it's because I don't know which loss hurt the worse -- My God or Santa Claus.
  5. For a poor sinner like myself, that doesn't know scripture well enough, could you provide one or two verses that prove a city is the bride. Thank you.
  6. Thank you, Ovedya, for the link. From the various responses to my posts I doubt many will follow the link and read a couple of the articles on its pages. I quote one passage that may awake an interest in some: Hence,
  7. John 14:2-3 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. When He comes again!!!

Gen 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Job 18:5, 19 "Indeed, the light of the wicked goes out
  9. Gen. 2:16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Eating you may eat of every tree in the garden; Gen. 2:17 but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you may not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, dying you SHALL die. Gen. 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, Dying you shall NOT die
  10. Hazard, are you looking forward to the return of Christ? Are you longing for the Blessed Hope of Titus 2:13? As Paul phrases it, are you groaning for the redemption of your body? (Rom. 8:23) It would be quite a task to analyze all the verses you have quoted (out of context) but perhaps I will give it a try.
  11. Now another topic with Christians wondering if their pets will go to heaven. Need I say more?
  12. Do I sound angry in these posts? Do I sound annoyed? Am I being un-Christian-like? It may very well be. The hope of the Christian, the desire of the Christian, the longing of the Christian should be the return of our Lord and Savior. Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. 2Co 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 1Th 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? And I see Christians writing, talking, dreaming, inventing fantasies about what they will be doing when they get to heaven. Can you blame me for being angry, annoyed and un-Christinal-like?
  13. Old Timer does not believe Pauls testimony that, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." You can read his debate in the Soap Box forum for more understanding on this. People generally do not quote the verses on this every time they talk about it, because it is such a universally accepted doctrine as a direct reference should not even be needed any more. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. In revelation we see some believers who have been murdered are in heaven, whilst other believers are still on the earth. Rev. 6:9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. I hope YOU have read my explanation of 2Cor. 5:8. If you have, and other places I have posted, then I am still waiting for anyone to tell me why Paul used the word
  14. Floatingaxe, provide me with a verses that tells what the dead are doing in heaven? Those mansions, that Christ went to prepare for us will be provided to us when Christ returns. John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Receive us unto Himself WHEN He retuns, WHEN He comes again. This is reaffirmed by many verses of scripture. 2Cor 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
  15. No, the Bible does not tell us about being with our family or anyone else in heaven. David said he would go to where his son was
  16. Stephenwrth, Well, you are probably correct. I am a bit too cynical. Certainly we can celebrate His first coming but we (many Christians) seem to ignore His second coming, the Blessed Hope of Titus 2:13. That should be our focus! Then, too, look at how His first coming is celebrated. By the pagan practices mentioned in lifeandliberty
  17. Thanks for the excellent post. A couple of other items Nowhere in scripture is it even hinted that Jesus
  18. This is reprehensible but not surprising. I copied this: With over 170 distinct religions counted in the 2001 Census, the religious make-up of the UK is highly diverse, complex, multicultural and surprising. About half of the British believe in God, yet about 72% told the 2001 census that they were Christian. Between 1979 and 2005, half of all Christians stopped going to church on a Sunday. Religion in Britain has suffered an immense decline since the 1950s, and all indicators show a continued secularisation of British society in line with other European countries such as France. When people or a nation give up on God, God will give up on them.
  19. This is without a doubt the most cruel and inhumane conduct that our country could possibly perpetrate. How dare we! How uncivilized! How savage! What will the rest of the world think of these outrageous actions? Oh, I shake my head at the unmitigated horror of it all. We are banning shipments of iPods, cognac and Rolex watches to North Korea. Do you realize what this means? In a country that is already poor with starving people and an oppressive government, now they will not have these essential items to make their life a bit easier. You can read the brutal actions of our government here.
  20. Excellent article! I would take exception to only one sentence.
  21. Simple question to answer. When Messiah returns.
  22. I agree. The sentence was an unjust one to begin with. Every Israeli PM has requested a pardon from the sitting president of the U.S. The only reason I can think of that he is still in prison is that the U.S. thinks more of the repercussions from its Arab
  23. And in the meantine... In an utter display of American weakness and shame, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers traveled to Saudi Arabia to apologize. Apologize for the American justice system and virtually everything else that America stands for. Suthers went to Saudi Arabia to apologize for the conviction of Homaidan Al-Turki. Just before Labor Day, Al-Turki was sentenced to 27 years to life in a Colorado prison for keeping a slave and raping her, among other crimes.
  24. November 21, 2006 is the 21st anniversary of the imprisonment of Jonathan Pollard, who is serving a life sentence in an American federal prison for actions he took on behalf of the State of Israel. Pollard, a civilian intelligence analyst working for the US Navy in the 1980s, was indicted by American authorities for having passed classified information to an ally, without intent to harm the United States. The life sentence handed down in the Pollard case was unprecedented in American history, with agents of friendly nations generally receiving two to four years in jail. Even many agents of nations hostile to the US have received lighter penalties. Currently serving his time in a medium-security federal penitentiary in Butner, North Carolina, Pollard spent seven years in solitary confinement in Marion Federal Prison in Illinois. ...the information Pollard passed to Israel appears to have concerned Syrian, Iraqi, Libyan and Iranian nuclear, chemical and biological warfare capabilities. It also included information on ballistic missile development by these countries and information on planned terrorist attacks against Israeli civilian targets. American intelligence was withholding the said security information despite a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the United States committing her to share such data with Israel. Arutz Sheva
