  1. Please take this to the Elders of the church with all persons presently involved. The Pastor may be the Pastor of the church but the Pastor is still accountable to the Elders. If the Elders cannot resolve this matter then there is no leadership in that church, you have a Pastor dictatorship. This kind of leadership is unbiblical. Your children are your children, put there safty and well being first!
  2. Congrats sis and may the Lord give you 50 more! May the Lord give you 75 more years
  3. May the Lord bless you two another 31 years! YoooHooo congratulation
  4. Marnie I'm sorry but you are right, there are not a lot of real men out there. The one's that are, well they are like needles in a hay stack. When I was growing up, a man, not my father, said to me all the time, "Your only worth your word" He taught me that a man's life was about sacrifices and the understanding or wisdom of when to make those sacrifices. Life is hard and you will make mistakes but you must learn from those mistakes. Today men make mistakes and try to cover them up or act like it was no big deal, stuff happens...... They refuse to learn by there mistakes and the mistakes other men make. It is like they are blind and just follow the leader into a deep abyss. Most of the men today were raised by their mother's because there father's were to busy making money, drinking or running around and did not provide sound wisdom on life, marriage or manhood. I was taught that if I truly loved my wife I would be willing to sacrifice my goal's or anything else in my life, if they didn't benefit her. I was taught that Jesus comes first and then my wife and then my children and then myself. Most men have this out of order, they put themselves first or they put Jesus first and then themselves then their wife and then there children. Sometimes I have see them put there children before there wife. Men do not learn from there elders anymore, this is the first mistake they make because they think that they have all the answers to life or act like it. I don't think that I'm telling you anything that you don't already know. Men are like the ox tied to a cart, they don't like to be lead and they always kick aginst the goad. Most men don't understand that there wife is the second most presious gift besides salvation that G-d has given them. That there wife is a helpmate and that they need to protect her at all cost. They think that she is suppose to do the dishes, the laundry and clean the house. Oh don't forget she's to bring in the extra bacon too, as well as raise the children. This may upset a lot of men but I am a man and I want to say to the men who read this, "Grow up, be a man, your only worth your word and if you cant keep your word your not worth much" Marnie, my advice to you is "Ask G-d for him to bring you the man he has put here for you" To that man, you will be the answer of his prayers, he will be a man of prayer and a man who seeks first the Kingdom of G-d. He will walk in such a upright manner that you will know his obedience to G-d because he walk's in the word of G-d. I know he's out there right now waiting for G-d to bring him his helpmate. The Lord bless you and keep you always child of I Am
  5. I will not say yes, I will not say no but I will say, "When I gave my life to Jesus, I became the Devils enemy" I will also say "There's not a day that goes by that I regret following my Lord, my Savior, the the Lord Jesus Christ the One and Only" "I am a child of the I AM" child of iam
  6. Go Indiana! Watch and see if the ACLU sue's our state in the days to come!
  7. I suppose everyone's experience might be slightly different as we each have a different temperament. For myself, I speak in tongues only occasionally, in times of private prayer when I am experiencing great distress, or great joy. Paul said: "I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all" and "forbid not to speak with tongues." If any denomination teaches against speaking in tongues they are teaching contrary to what Paul said. If any church has no one in their congregations who speak in tongues, one would have to wonder why. However, everything must be done in Scriptural order. I agree
  8. I have the gift of tongues and I use it in prayer privately and not publicly. So many people who clame to have this gift abuse it in the public church for there 5 minutes of glory. It is a gift so one can do battle in the spiritual realm!
  9. I do all the house work for my wife. Will that count for her or does that mean I wont have to worry about brest cancer?

    Rapture

This is scripture alright, but it is nothing to do with a godly view. It is the view of a man "under the sun"! Not the view of God nor Jesus Christ. The flesh surely rests and sleeps, but the PERSON goes to be with God. You are perpetuating the errant doctrine of Soul Sleep, and I thnk it should be cut short here in Worthy. This scripture you quote is the source of that antichristian doctrine. Why should it be cut short here? Because some people don't believe in it? Aren't we free to express our beliefs here? I'm sorry, but we're not free to express our beliefs if they contradict too much of the mainstream common Christian thinking. The thing that is very interesting to me is that the majority are going to be thrown into hell fire. Broad is the road and wide is the gate that leads to destuction. Narrow is the gate that leads to life and few there be that find it. Only a minority of the believers will inherit the kingdom of Heaven. So just because the Majority disagree, doesn't make them right. In my twenty five years of being a christian, I have seen this topic discussed at every level. The problem is that it always ends up with someone having hurt feelings. Whats the point? Here is how we need to look at this subject. 1) Jesus said that He didn't know the hour or the day when it was going to take place and Jesus is the one coming. 2) Jesus said that we needed to be ready; knowing the seasons. 3) Jesus gave us a command to take the gospel to all men. Here's the problem that will exist after the resurrection if your a pre-trib. 1) There won't be any saints left to preach the gospel. 2) There will be a lot of people on earth without hope. Here's the problem that will exist after the resurrection if your a mid-trib. 1) There won't be any saints left to preach the gospel. 2) There will be a lot of people on earth without hope. Here's the problem that will exist after the resurrection if your a post-trib. 1)There wont be anybody left on the earth. This is the question you need to ask yourself. "What if I am wrong in what I believe about the great tribulation and when the saints will be resurrected?" We should be spending our time building one another up not tearing each other apart with arguments. We should be growing everyday in obedience to Christ and building a close and personal relationship with Him. We should be doer's of the word, hiding it in our heart and minds. Meditating on it day and night. Most importantly we should act upon it, live it, with every breath we take. How many people have you shared the gospel with this past year? How many this past week? What about today? Are you taking the time to give hope to those who have no hope? Have you ever sat in a croud of strangers and just looked at the faces of people? "Everyone of us has someone around us that is alone and needs a friend." child_of_IAM
  11. Souls were referred to as people in general. You gave no proof of anything...we are spirits with souls (minds) who live in bodies. I agree with floatingaxe!
  12. Very good post Child_of_IAM, Leadership seems to be misunderstood in our society. Many leaders today will only give-in to what the public wants to hear. Leaders are supposed to LEAD others out of fallacy. Whether it be a false sense of truth, or peace, or comfort; leaders are supposed to better the situation, not conform to it! I love the prophecy about the 144,000 Jewish saints in Revelation. There will be 144,000 apostle Pauls running around preaching the Word of God!! This will bring about the greatest (and much needed) reformation of the Church in human history! What a beautiful sight that will be! Amen What a beautiful day that will be!
  13. I would like to say that not all pastors preach the truth, they preach a truth watered down. There are still many who speak the truth from the pulpit but there are multitudes of people who don't want the truth. The problem is not with the multitudes but with the pastors who give-in to there whims. When a pastor stands on the word and doesn't give-in one of two things will happen. One, the people will hear the truth and the people will divide into two groups, those who want the truth and those who don't. I have seen many board meetings break out into arguments over what the preacher is preaching and the leadership gives in to the people. The problem with leadership in the church today is that they don't want to make anyone angry or uncomfortable or take the chance of someone leaving. The problem with most leadership today is that they are voted in by people or chosen by fellow leadership without ever consulting the Lord in a rightful manner. The second thing that could happen to a pastor who stands on the word and doesn't give-in is he gets fired. Preachers today are a dime a dozen but preachers called and seperated by the hand of G-d are hard to find. In times of old there was only one church per community and today we either have a church on every corner or a liquor store. There has been a great loss in todays socity of the churches impact on our communities because of the lack of a G-dly leadership choesen by G-d, instead we have chosen our leadership and suffer. Doesn't this sound alot like when the Hebrew people chose Saul to be there king and didn't want G-d's imput. They wanted what they wanted so they got what they got! Child_of_IAM
  14. I am stumped on a scripture and need some advice. In John 6:53-54 Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life," . I understand clearly that the flesh is the word of God, John 1:1-5 & John 1:14, the word became flesh. My question is what does the blood signify? In responding to this question please give me scripture references with your opinions. Thank you child_of_iam
  15. can the finite say to the infinate, "I can measure you"
  16. ...by saying that God is eternal. If he has always been there, he doesn't need a cause. The only problem is that this "eternal presence" explanation could be used to defend anything abstract, not just God, much less the Christian one. It is just a way to escape the need for a cause, and thus escape rationality, but it certainly doesn't prove or even explain God and his presence. Anyway, I think Draygomb's paradox just points to the cause-lessness of time and God's decision. So, as expected, the Christians justify his causeless time and purposes as "eternal." This is not an explanation, of course, just an escape from logic. The claim that God and/or any of his properties are eternal simply prevents us from "zooming out" past God and evaluating his causes, which have not and cannot be explained. Sorry runners high you qouted the law of cause and effect wrong. The Law simply states; "every effect must have a cause" This law works backwords to the origional cause. The origional cause being "self existant". The origional Self-exestant cause does not require an effect because it is self-exestant and therefore exist outside the realm of time and matter because time and mater is an effect of the original self-existing cause. anyway, when tomarow comes, what happens if you find out that everything you know to be true and everything you know to be untrue is not true at all? That what you so believe is the absolute truth has infact decieved you. What happens if one day you find yourself standing before The most Holy God who aloud his son, Jesus, who knew no sin to become sin on your part so that you would have an escape frome Judgement and you rejected him. It was once said there will be no sinners in hell, there will be no athist in hell. There will only be thoes who rejected the Lamb of God.
  17. You can break this parodox by simply turning away from it. But as a athiast you have no where to turn so it is ever before you. If you want to realy break Draygomb's paradox and prove it can be broken it would require you to unbelieve everything you believe, and in faith reach out to what you can not see, what you can not touch, or understand in your mind.
  18. Summer Sun, there is a great little book by RC Sproul entitled Knowing Scripture that really lays out the good basics of interpretation. I am sure its still available through most Christian stores. sw I agree
