The bible tells of a scenario wherein Damascus Syria will be completely destroyed. I wonder if this will happen in 2008 or 2009? Notice the article states Syria is trying to accumulate enough missiles by the end of 08 to sends 100's of rockets per hour into Israel. The time of the end may be closer than we think. This should serve as a warning to all Christians to be on the guard and to be looking for the soon appearing of Jesus Christ. The deception and darkness of this last day will only get worse and those not rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ and the word of God will be led astray and will perish in hell fire. Hi Mazra, In examining Daniel 11 there is a time of the end mentioned. I believe this means the end-times. Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south attack him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through. Then it goes on to describe what the Antichrist will do: Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and most of the children of Ammon. Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also against the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. Dan 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall follow in his train. Dan 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and to utterly sweep away many. Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. Notice this (And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain) The bible describes that the Antichrist will succeed in dividing up Israel, dividing Jerusalem and ruling from Jerusalem. Islam's eschatology even allows for this very thing. Mahdi (next Caliph) will rule from Jerusalem. Thus he sets his tents up between the Mediterranean and the mountains of Israel, at which time the Lord shall destroy Antichrist with the brightness of his coming, the rock that smashes the feet, the mountain that fills the whole earth. Then immediately the very next verse is Daniel 12:1 talking of Michael the Archangel standing up and time of trouble for Israel and the rest of the world like never before and shall never happen afterwards. Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Then immediately the next verse in Daniel 12:2 Is judgement day. Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. These verses point to the last days. To the Antichrist, Gog/Magog war, the war of Zechariah all set in the last days and not during the Greek empire. We can jump back to Daniel 8 and look at the clash between Persia and Greece for this talks of similar things concerning the Greek empire while at the same time jumping way ahead to the time of the end. Daniel 8:1-7 talks of Alexander the Great defeating Persia. Daniel 8:8 talks of the dividing up of the Grecian empire amongst the 4 generals of Alexander and this is the point the Ptolemies and Secludes are formed and the time of Antiochus Epiphanies. However the next verse v9 describes the Antichrist. This is a huge gap in time. Dan 8:8 Therefore the male goat grew very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land. This little horn is believed to be the Antichrist. Notice the similar language of Ch 11. Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land. Compare Daniel 11 Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and most of the children of Ammon. (This he is Antichrist imho) Then we see in the next verse v10 a scene right out of the book of Revelations. Dan 8:10 And it (the little horn) grew great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. Rev 12:3 And there appeared another sign in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered, to devour her child as soon as it was born. This is at a time the bible describes Michael the Arch Angel casting Satan out of heaven. Remember Daniel 12 where Michael stands up? Well Revelations gives a little more insight to what "stands up" means Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And here is what happens just like Daniel 12:1 Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea ! for the devil has come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time. Compare Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. back to Daniel 8 Gabriel comes in 8:16 to explain the dream to Daniel and interprets as I have laid out above. Then Gabriel after discussing the Grecian empire and the 4 divisions again talks about the end-times. Dan 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom (the Grecian Kingdom of the last days or Antichrist kingdom), when the transgressors have come to their fullness, a king of bold countenance, and understanding riddles, shall stand up. (This would be Antichrist) Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy awesomely, and shall prosper, and thrive, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. (This happens when Michael stands up) Dan 8:25 And through his cunning also he shall cause deceit to prosper under his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and without warning shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken, by no human hand. Here we see the stone cut out without hands thrown into the feet of the statute at the end of times. The very same Antichrist kingdom is spoken of here. The Greek Empire of Daniel 8 and 10-12 is related to an empire at the end of the age. I also believe "he" in the following verse is taken away is also Michael "standing up". When Michael stands up, he leaves Israel and the Antichrist will be revealed then. I know many think it is the church and that a so-called pre-trib rapture takes place to remove "he". But you have to do wild speculating to see three comings of Yeshua instead of two comings that is plain in scripture. This is another discussion altogether. 2Th 2:6 And now you know what restrains that he might be revealed in his time. 2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will do so, until he be taken out of the way. 2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked One be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Then Gabriel tells Daniel Dan 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: therefore shut up the vision; for it shall be many days hence. Michael goes one step further defining the time "many days hence" Dan 12:4 But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Most bible scholars worth their salt agree that little horn is Antichrist and his kingdom at the time of the end. This king does the same things as the king in the latter part of Daniel 11 does. Therefore in is my conclusion that about the first 2/3 part of Daniel 11 is the time of the Maccabees, but that latter part is the time of the Antichrist of the end days. The Little Horn of Daniel 8 corresponds to the King of the North. He arises from the territory of the old Seleucid kingdom, the heart of which is Syria (though areas of Turkey and Iraq cannot be ruled out). I would have to disagree here. Titus destroyed the temple and looted it, but he did not set up any image in the temple as this would be the abomination spoken of, an image. The image in my thoughts will be a cresent moon. What is hard I suppose is our old man inclination to love the things of this world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life. I think the affection American Christians have for sin and the world as defined above is the root of having problems in the christian walk. Much is done because of ignorance simply because people do not read the entire bible form cover to cover and get the whole council of God. The church in America is conformed to this world and therefore there is no life or power in them that causes amazing Christianity. Until this is resolved, we will have worthless Christianity and miserable lives.

It didn't affect the Jewish people directly but it did affect God's chosen land and Jerusalem was "Trodden Down of the Gentiles" at this time by the Ottomans and prior by Muslims who formed the Ottoman empire. I don't believe the diaspora was relevant as to "who is who" concerning the seventh empire. As far as God's accounting of empires goes, once the Jews were gone, though not completely, for Tel Aviv was a major Jewish center during the diaspora, it was the chosen land that was relevant. There is no doubt as you have stated, the prophecies of the end-times revolve around the nation of Israel. This is why there is so much private interpretation that it is all about the west/pope/Europe etc. No it's not. It's about Israel and her enemies, the countries that surround her and want to destroy her, who today are all Muslim. But Iron Rome did come to an end when the Ottoman empire was established and the Muslim rule had a defined territorial empire. The conquest in Jerusalem was just part of the overall Ottoman conquest. The title has been defunct since the Republic of Turkey abolished the Ottoman caliphate in 1924. In other words, since 1924 the position of Caliph has been waiting for a Man on Horseback, or the man on horseback as described in the Bible. Antichrist. As I was researching this I learned something very interesting about Osama bin Ladens beliefs. He sees himself as the Caliph to rule Islam. The Quran allows the Caliphate to be taken by force. What he did 9/11 caused him to trump the religious card in Islam. Thus setting himself up to rule Islam. Everything Osama is doing is to bring about the Caliphate. Al-qaeda is not simply terrorizing the west just because we happen to be in Islamic lands, or because of our democracy and freedom, but rather according to what he believes Jihad must continue until every person is under Islamic control and there is a Caliph who is the arm of Allah on earth. While this is true, the beast and the image of Daniel were defined territorial empires e.g. Egyptians to the Romans. Rome was in control at the time of the Revelation. Germany sacked Western Rome, but the Roman Empire still lived on and ruled from Turkey for almost 1000 more years after the fall of the west. It was the Ottoman Empire that took out Rome, and the eastern part and Rome as an empire ceased to exist. It was then that Muslims had well defined empire called the Ottoman Empire. It is this empire that Osama Bin Laden refers to when he says 'Nation of Islam". Therefore I believe Ottoman was the 7th empire spoken of in Revelations. Revelations specifically says the 8th empire, the Antichrist empire would arise out of the seven. I take this to mean out of the 7th which consisted of much of the lands of the first six excluding most of the Western Roman empire except North Africa was part of the Western empire and is today without exception Muslim. Now if my theory is correct, in order for the Ottoman Empire to completely recover from the wound in it's head of the dismantling back in 1922, the secular government of Turkey will have to become an Islamic government. I don't know if you follow what is happening in Turkey in the news, but I do. The secular government there is living on borrowed time right now. I imagine within the next few years, it will be Islamic ruled by Sharia law. I also believe that it will be then when Islam institutes a Caliph (Pope of Islam). I think that Caliph will will be the Mahdi aka Antichrist. I think he will be a Turk, for the Bible says that Satan's throne is in Pergamum, which is located in modern day Turkey. Revelation 17 to me speaks of empires simply because it described 7 empires before the 8th empire. Very good accounting of the empires. I believe the Muslim/Turk/Ottoman is the seventh empire that the bible speaks of. Furthermore the 8th empire is said to come from that 7th empire and we see a Muslim empire forming consisting of the lands of the Ottoman empire right before our very eyes. The Bible concerned itself with empires that have trodden down Jerusalem or had control over the lands of Israel at one time or another. Who are these nations? Also ruled North Africa which was part of the Western Roman Empire. I agree that there are even now many Antichrists from all walks of life. However, we are talking about a specific man of sin as the bible foretold that we refer to as the Antichrist though that is not an official biblical title. Islam has in their end-time teachings which is a driving force of Islam's terror and conquest to bring forth the Mahdi who would be the Christian Antichrist, is the reason I post specifically about Islam. No other religion has the hang up with the sonship of Jesus, the trinity, the crucifixion, the resurrection as does Islam. Islam exist to deny these tenants of Christianity in a violent and forceful way. Their eschatology is the reverse of Christian eschatology because Satan knows prophecy and twisted to make the Christian good guys the Muslim bad guys and to make the Christian bad guys the Muslim good guys. Islam's teachings is designed to bring the Antichrist Mahdi, and the false prophet Isa, into this world and to cause Muslims to actually fight Jesus Christ when he comes by teaching that Jesus will be the Dajjal. The characters to Muslims are: Mahdi: Saviour of the Islam world Jesus Christ: great prophet Dajjal: Anti-Christ Satan is preparing the Muslim world to accept the antichrist and the false prophet even now in their teachings. Satan is already preparing the Islamic world to reject Christ at the end of the 7 year tribulation by teaching now of his coming and saying that the one coming is a fraud, and antichrist, the Dajjal. It use to really puzzle me where the bible says that the armies of the earth will gather to fight against the Lord. I use to wonder "How can this be?" "How can anybody think they can fight against God?" After listening to what Muslims are being taught, finally I understand how people people will actually think they can fight against God. They won't believe it IS God they are fighting. They will think it is the Dajjal, the antichrist they are fighting! Scripture Comparison in the Bible 1- Scripture teaches us that there will be an anti-christ during the 7 year tribulation that will destroy many through peace. Islam teaches there will be a messiah called the Mahdi that will rule for 7 years to bring peace and judgment to the earth. 2- Scripture teaches us that there will be a false prophet supporting the antichrist doing signs and wonders. Islam teaches Isa (Muslim Jesus) will be supporting the Mahdi doing signs and wonders. 3- Scripture teaches at the end of the 7 year tribulation, Jesus Christ will come and establish his kingdom on this earth and he will rule with a rod of iron. He will cast the antichrist and his followers into the lake of fire. Islam teaches the Dajjal will come to deceive Muslims and try to get them to convert to him. Muslims call him the antichrist. Islam teaches at the end of the 7 years the Dajjal will come to this earth as the antichrist and will perform miracles to deceive Muslims, such as: 1a- Bringing rain because of the drought. (scripture teaches that God will use drought as judgment, Jesus restores the earth during this period) 1b- Islam teaches the Dajjal will bring forth fruit bearing trees. (scripture teaches of great famine, Jesus restores the earth during this time) 1c- Islam teaches that the Dajjal will ask the Muslims if they will convert and believe on him after these miracles. (You can make the assumption that people will become believers in Christ during the tribulation, because of various things scripture says along these lines) 1d- Islam teaches the Dajjal will also raise people from the dead and then ask the Muslims to convert and believe on him. (we know Jesus was raised from the dead and the dead in Christ will rise on that day) 1e- Islam teaches that any that do not convert to the Dajjal, the Dajjal will throw them into the river of fire that follows him wherever he goes. (scripture teaches Jesus will cast unbelievers into the lake of fire) 1f- Islam teaches the Dajjal will be defeated by the Mahdi at Medina. We know Jesus defeats the antichrist. So you see that the characters that Muslims think is: (a) Mahdi the messiah that rules for 7 years, is actually the antichrist (b) Isa is the false prophet (Isa-Muslim Jesus whom Muslims consider to be ONLY a great prophet, but not greater that Muhammad) © Dajjal the antichrist, who comes at the end of the 7 years is actually Jesus Christ.

I'm a supporter. You can just about overlay many sections of Revelations on Enoch. I've read it several times. I find it interesting that the book according to what is written in it says it is sealed up till the last days. Enoch is part of the Ethopic Coptic Church cannon. It is not a part of our cannon. The first church it was read widely. The Ethopic bible first two books are Enoch and Jubliees. Both are facinating reads and answer a lot of questions I had. I've been thinking of getting a pet lately. I've not done it because I tend to have to move on short notice. So that means finding a home or taking to a pound. I've thought about getting a rabbit because when it's time to move you just cook the rabbit. Problem solved Just kidding...............

Keep it short when possible. It isn't always possible though. Using the Bible as an example 66 books long Shorter is good though, because of the attention span. I know my mind tends to wonder after a while and I often have to reread the same thing more than once on longer posts to finally get it

This last day deception is very strong and will get stronger. When the false prophet arrives on the scene doing signs and wonders, only those with God's word richly dwelling in them will have the discernment to know the true from the false.

Same gripe the children of Israel had during Jeremiah's day, during Ezekiel's day, during Micah's day etc. This is the pattern of those who think they belong to God all throughout the bible. When God warns of impending judgment, it's called gloom and doom and nobody wants to hear it. Well, those who are hearing it are going to continue to warn whether anybody wants to hear it or not, because watchmen have to sound the trumpet. Yes a great time of gloom and doom is coming on this earth. It will be gloom and doom for those who reject the word of the Lord.
