  1. Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ! I just wanted to let you know I've uploaded a video highlighting our work in China for 2007. You can find it here: Missions Family Please keep us in prayer as we prepare for this summer. The Olympics and demonstrations in the areas we work are going to make this an interesting trip! Also please keep us in prayer for supporting churches and prayer partners. Blessings!! In His Service, Danny PS: Please keep this thread in prayer...I WAS THERE!! http://www.worthyboards.com/index.php?showtopic=83551
  2. I was in Dongxiang, Gansu only a few weeks after this arrest. I'm stunned to read about it here...what a blessing to hear he's alive. When I visited last summer, I was told by M's that live there the man was "saved" by the police from a mob that had formed and cornered him. He was ultimately charged with something like "creating a disturbance". This is a stitched together panarama I took of the city, Dongxia, where it happened. The prison he's in is just off camera to the left.
  3. This is like the third similar story in recent weeks... ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::; Fox News Story Indonesian Fisherman Catches Rare Ancient Fish AKARTA, Indonesia
  4. I sure feel for you! I remember how much it hurt and my face swelled up. I looked like a woodchuck! If you're stomach can handle them ok...I would stick to the T 3's ...you don't want to get that throbbing pain in your mouth. It'll cause headaches and neck ache too. You probably won't be taking them any longer than a week or so. But if they're bothering you, tell the doctor asap...you need a pain med for this type of surgery. Hope you're feeling better soon! Blessings! Danny
  5. I wasn't disagreeing, brother... I totally agree there is good evidence and foundation is crucial. What I was commenting on pertains to the type of folks I've been debating for years on atheist and philosophy slanted boards. Believe me, these guys are clamped down tighter than a toddler and his "binkey". And while I agree with scripture on having a ready defense to give an account, the rulebook they use for debate excludes the spiritual, supernatural, and metaphysical. I'm certain it's intentional without them even being aware. The scripture does say that the lost have been blinded. My only point was that removing the blindness is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit triggered by the power of God's word. It's not a case I can make based entirely on intellectualism. I think where logic can play a part is when the Spirit is at work in a person and they begin to see things from God's POV. For example, if I asked you, now that you're born again, how differently you see things as a believer, you would obviously find the truth of scripture to be logical whereas at one time it appeared to be illogical.
  6. I can't agree more. I would have no business having a relationship with a woman, apart from my wife and I together being friendly with her. Same goes for my wife and a male friend. We have that agreement in our marriage. It takes the temptation away, it keeps everything out in the open and on the table, and makes our lives transparent to one another. Living your life like an open book before your spouse is a key. Secrets and private things lead to trouble.
  7. Thanks!! No, I made the banners in photoshop elements. I used a few pictures and gifs around the web and incorporated them in one way or another. The Nvu html program helped me with nested tables, colors, css and such. Now the 2 php boards are just their own skins that I selected and modified a little.
  8. Hey guys...Thanks for the replies. I can tell that you know much more than I do about websites. I made this webiste for our church... Greenwood Baptist Church The problem I had originally was that I was pointing to "localhost" instead of inputting the actual address...like 205.178.65.168 or something... I added the message board and photo album from free php sites. I used a free HTML editor called Nvu and freeware Filezilla FTP. So all we had to pay for was the host site and Domain name. I know it looks kinda cheezy...it's the best I could do. Anyway, I just wanted a simple board where the pastor could sort of "blog" or answer questions, and a place where anyone could put up church bulletins, announcments and what not. This board seems ok and easy for me to get around...plus it was easily skinable. The website is just basic info for anybody wanting to know more about us. We're a small church...about 125 on Sunday morning service. Thanks for the replies...I was at my wits end when I posted. hahaha.
  9. Actually, the only argument that will work is the evidence that God has provided mankind in His Creation, His Son, His Word, and His Church. Man will left without excuse before the throne. As for us, as Christians, trying to make a "logical argument" for the existence of God, we will not win that debate. We cannot convince, coerce, win a debate, forcibly draw a commitment, or otherwise make someone have faith in Jesus Christ. It's impossible. Salvation comes by grace, by the power of God's word, and the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit working together in concert, which leads a person by faith to trust Christ as Savior. We can't make it happen through logical reasoning, arguments, or scientific evidence. This is where the lid on the "box" of philosophy and the scientific method closes. It refuses to allow anything that can't be observed and measured in a controlled environment. This box excludes God.
  10. "...that means you got the apartment!" That ad from Comcast cable is the funniest commercial in a while....
  11. The sad part will be on the day when all those, who were so sure there was no God, find themselves speechless before the throne. All we can do is pray and proclaim.
  12. I'm trying to set up a bb forum on my church website. I'm using Network Solutions. I have activated mySQL DB and have a database name, user name and password. I have successfully logged into mySQL DB from the network solutions hosting control panel. I uploaded all files to mydomain.com/htdocs/phpBB2. I changed the file attributes for config.php to 666. I opened the install.php file in my browser, then filled in the info. when I hit "Start Install" I get the error message: -------------------------------------------- phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database -------------------------------------------- What should I try now? I'm thinking the I may have not fully set up my hosts database yet. There are no tables yet. Thanks for any help! Danny
  13. Researchers and intellectuals will always try to come up with new explanations as to why mankind has a predisposition to worship something. They will consider every conceivable answer except for the obvious; that we were created to worship the Living God.
  14. No. The evidence is overwhelming. First, God gave us His creation as evidence so that mankind will have no excuse not to know that He exists: "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Romans 1:20 Secondly, God has given us His Word. His Word is truth, light, and holy in every way. It is inerrant, infallible, and contains everything mankind needs in order to know God, walk with Him, live this life, and enter eternal life. Third, God has given us His Son, Jesus, who is the promised Messiah, the Christ. Jesus is the only begotten of the Father, the express image of God in the flesh, and very God of very God. Jesus proved His identity through His fulfillment of all prophecy concerning the Messiah, His miraculous birth, sinless life, miracles, and resurrection. Fourth, God has given us His Holy Spirit, who indwells all believers, teaches us all things, guides us in all truth, speaks of Christ, convicts of sin, and more. Fifth, God has given us His church, the body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, of which He is the head. His church and it's members know and follow Him, proclaim the gospel, baptize into the church, makes disciple, and is to be a light in the midst of darkness. God has revealed Himself to mankind. Because of sin, man is born lost; that is, separated from fellowship with God. As a result, man is blind to the things of God and does not seek Him nor believe in Him as a natural condition. The penalty for sin is death and we are all guilty. Jesus paid that penalty on the cross with His own life in our place. Therefore, salvation is by grace. It is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit resulting from God's calling of all men to Himself through the measure of faith that has been given to all mankind. Exercising that faith, man is called to repent and place their faith (for salvation) upon Jesus Christ (believe). As a result of trusting Jesus as Savior, we are forgiven of our sins, receive the gift of eternal life, and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Saved; born again; adopted as sons; made citizens of the Kingdom; names written in the Lamb's Book of Life; and so much more. My friend...there is no possibility that there is no God. There is no possibility that there are many gods or many paths to heaven. There is one name under heaven by which men can be saved, and His name is the Name above all names, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Blessings! Danny
