  1. Exactly the point that I was going to make. This is an issue of a callous murder, not of immigration. Awful things are done all over the world and by people from all different kinds of backgrounds. I can't believe either of you guys!! What if your child had been murdered by someone who shouldn't have been here? Wouldn't that make it even worse? This happened because of laxness about keeping our borders secure. It is about illegal immigration. You guys are acting like you are actually taking up for this monster. What if you had a child who was raped and killed by a pedophile who had been let out of jail? How senseless would that be? And how much angrier would you be? "You guys are acting like you are actually taking up for this monster." -No, they're merely stating that his immigration status had nothing to do with his capability to commit this heinous act. "What if your child had been murdered by someone who shouldn't have been here? Wouldn't that make it even worse?" -Not to open another can of worms, but if you're against hate crime legislation because you believe a crime is a crime is a crime, then why do you think this instance is any different? A crime is a crime, no matter who commits it.
  2. I thought Azusa Street was in Los Angeles....(minor point)
  3. your statement above is nothing more than doubt looking for proof...what separates you from millions of naturalistic skeptics? not much! see, in your idolatrous liberal mind, the human practice of "science" (which is nothing more than frail, limited human understanding of the physical universe) trumps what GOD says about ORIGINS and HISTORY...which is absurd...no one was there except God! I believe in evolution (speciation/selection/genetic drift), but evolution has NOTHING to do with the origin of anything....nor do I accept "millions of years" darwinist propaganda, which is completely unscientific and unBiblical What happened to the commandment to not judge other people. Who exactly are you to call people idolatrous? And no, science is not an idol. But I guess you're so far above that because we're all heathens.
  4. you're missing the point doctrinal truth is foundational, without it, the Church cannot survive...as it is, many people reject the scripture because they consider the Creation account to be myth I still remember the Bruce Willis interview Or, many people reject Christianity because the necessity to accept the literal 6-day creation is incompatible with what is known through deductive reasoning. Do you understand how God created gravity, electromagnetic force, the Andromeda galaxy, the elements of the periodic table, 46 chromosomes of the human body, or a blade of grass? Why are there so many Alu sequences in the human genome? Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus. That's it.
  5. when it comes to truth, you bet do you consider yourself "broad minded" about gravity? care to sail off a three-story building and put that to the test? God willing, I can move mountains. God willing, I can also sail off a three-storey building. But we're not to test God. What is gravity to God? He created the natural laws of the universe. He can undo them with a simple gesture of a finger.
  6. lol, since when is "liberalism" restricted to politics?? http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/liberal 5: BROAD-MINDED; especially : not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms broad-minded. how awful.
  7. You know, can you quit it with the "liberal" this and "liberal" that? Why are you bringing politics into a science forum? Your misuse of the term is more irritating than a rash.
  8. The Bible said the sun stood still. Do you believe in geocentrism or not?
  9. anyone who dismisses sections of the Bible while claiming to be a follwer of Christ is a liberal, and may be self deceived about salvation it has nothing to do with what I believe, it's what God's Word clearly says Is English your first language?
  10. Does anyone know if people chose to abstain from the "blessing"? After all, you have the freedom to not listen to a pagan text, right?
  11. If you look at it from a Biblical perspective (because you know, anything that remotely resembles liberalism is evil), we are to be good stewards of earth. After all, God created all flora and fauna, and He called them "good". So we should do what we can to preserve what He has created. Not all environmental conservationists are hippies or mother earth-worshipping nuts.
  12. If He wishes to. The sun is also said to have stood still. Don't tell you you're a proponent of geocentrism.
  13. Just as an aside. Most biological scientists don't study evolutionary biology. Not to discredit the field of biology. Which many on here seem to do.
  14. Unfortunately I do not subscribe to the myths of environmental distress. I think that nearly 98.763% of all environmental "problems" are scare tactics. However, I do think there are some minor environmental issues that should be dealt with. For example, I think trees grow too fast in California causing huge fires almost every year. I mean can't we hire some company to cut down those trees before they burn up every year...such a waste of resources. I also hear we are running out of landfill space (probably just another myth, but I heard it) and we should definitely address that environmental problem before we have to start dumping our trash on Al Gore's unused acreage. BTW..that 98.763% figure was an approximation. Do inform us about the environmental distresses that you think are myths. I suppose ExxonValdez was just a minor environmental issue. And I do love me some hexavalent chromium in my water. It adds a refreshing sense of wholesomeness. And who can resist the aroma of nitric oxide? Smoggy air just adds character. Chlorofluorocarbons? Ozone layer? What ozone layer? Has anyone SEEN this ozone layer?
  15. That doesn't answer my original question....
  16. Hebrews Chapter 10...
  17. "For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins" So if we commit the same sin multiple times, are we doomed...?
  18. Has anyone brought up the vestigial organs yet?
  19. So much more to God than what?
  20. That way for just about everything, really. Whatever happened to being TRANSFORMED by a Power bigger than ourselves and having a Saviour who could do for us what we CANNOT do for ourselves -- which is what we need??? Transformation is having the power to stay away from sin despite the ongoing temptation. Turning into a heterosexual is not the transformation, but may be a product for a very small percentage of people. I'm not talking about that in particular, but everything. Since when is a relationship with God supposed to be reduced to some banal "Course in Behavioral Modification with my Imaginary Friend"??? Well, that WAS the topic at hand... "Since when is a relationship with God supposed to be reduced to some banal "Course in Behavioral Modification with my Imaginary Friend"???" - Well, lots of churches, pastors, and Christians support that view. (If by Imaginary Friend, you mean God.)
  21. True. I wish the Founding Fathers would have been more clear - ie: The government shall not interfere in religion, instead of the separation of church and state.
  22. Are you saying there are no diseases out there that are causes by genetic defects? Explain sickle-cell anemia and cystic fibrosis to me.

  24. Yea, like learning about severe social inequalities and wanting to do something about it. How unreasonable of me. Social activism, how awful.
  25. Did you not say or advocate or support the idea that some men are born homosexual? So I get that you are saying God creates people with a forbidden desire? I asked for you to post them. "Did you not say or advocate or support the idea that some men are born homosexual?" - I advocated the point that no one has proof as to what causes homosexuality. "So I get that you are saying God creates people with a forbidden desire?" - God doesn't create predilection for sin. That comes from the fall of man from Adam's original sin. "I asked for you to post them." - And I ask for you to look them up yourself. I realize you were trying to make a reply to the Bible verses, but if that's the case, then post them yourself.
