WN: GOP Sounds Alarm Over Obama Decision to Move Census to White Hous
Shortstop replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
Get the DVD call "Setting the Record Straight, The Truth in Black & White." It can be found on WallBuilders site. It is a real eye opener and if this gets out in the main stream media, the Republican's can take back the House, Senate and the Presidency. The Democrates are out of control! And yes, this is even scarier. If they are able to get the Census in their hands, they can control where the new lines are drawn and increase just enough electoral votes in certain key states to keep them in office and power for a long, long, socialist time... -
Hey kat8585 the link doesn't work... Do you have another link?

You should put in a word on what you believe. Though if they are atheist be prepared for quite a debate....

We can love them without facilitating their sin. If fact, it is more for their sakes than our own that we would not encourage behavior that the Bible so clearly describes as "abomination". We Christians are not judging or condemning homosexuals for being who they are. We simply want no part of it and do NOT wish to have their lifestyles forced upon us. I have said this before and I will say it one more time. I, myself, would not begrudge homosexual couples any legal rights provided to them in a "legal" union. However, these unions should not be considered "marriages". For those of us who call ourselves Christians, marriage is "Holy Matrimony", a commitment and promise made, between an Man and a Woman, in the sight of God. Not a legal union or a contract. The fact that ministers, priests or pastors should be "licensed" to perform religious ceremonies is unconstitutional in my point of view. Again we come back to the so called "separation of church and state". These days the state has inserted itself as the authority which decides who is and isn't "married". It's no wonder divorce is rampant in western countries. They have taken God out of virtually every facet of life. When people understood their marriage was a commitment to both their spouse AND GOD, they tended to take it a little more seriously and did not divorce on a whim. This is why there are so many broken homes and so many children who have no understanding of what a Family is or it's importance in properly raising a child. This is the kind of decay that is rotting our once great nation into oblivion. A country of people who are willfully and blissfully ignorant of sin and unwittingly mollify those around them into thinking that sin is acceptable in the eyes of God. THIS cannot be "tolerated". Sin is sin and lest we reject it AND those who do not turn from it we do those sinners a grave injustice, by resisting our responsibility to set the example. It's called "tough love" and any parent would understand that we only encourage sin when we ignore it. Well said...

Mega Churches vs small gatherings
Shortstop replied to ParanoidAndroid's topic in General Discussion
Umm...the book of Acts. The Jerusalem Council? Paul telegraphing ahead to various churches to have the offerings ready for him. They ordained elders, deacons, bishops, etc. You have to have some size to do all that. Church history from Polycarp on down indicates that at various times larger churches, cathedrals, were the norm and so-called home churches were the anomaly. When I speak of accountability, I am referring to a leadership upline as described in the NT. You are telling me you have that in your home church?? You ordain leadership? Who ordains them? Who educates them? Who do they answer to? Do you send out missionaries? A church is more than just a group of people meeting in your livingroom. Nothing personal, but as a relative new-comer to the faith, I am not seeing the concept of the "home church" in the NT at all. No one does not have to have "size" to do all that. When God ordains a person to step up in their call it is done, so what does "size" have to do with it? God ordains, not a man's pen. The elder who is mentoring my husband was ordained in 1965, he along with other men are elders of the home church that has come together in my home. It was not by our hand that we placed it together. The elders kneel before God and seek His guidance and what His will is for this church and body of Christ that meet in my home. They seek His wisdom...Yes, we support a total of 7 missions and 1 Christian radio station. So, we are more than just a group of people who met in my living room. We are also a new Host site for Angel Food Ministries. Here check us out: Go to... www.faithhomefellowship.org this is our church home....We are growing in outreach ministries, we don't care about numbers that site in the pew because we were commission to "GO OUT" and preach the gosepel, not just sit and listen to a message and then the rest of the week do nothing with it...Jesus moved about and was out among the people...He was not confined to 4 walls... -
Mega Churches vs small gatherings

All I ask is don't get me wrong here...I read the last 3 replies after my first post, but none stated a single scripture just personal insights... I am genuinely seeking this out...I pointed out some things I would like to ask about if that's okay...If not, then so be it... So: Marnie can you show me where you got this information: The NT church wasn't all home churches! And the early church, some of them, were quite large. In fact, church history is full of very large churches. In the days before there were churches ever few feet, there would be one or two in a community and they would both be full and large. To comment to a home church being very unappealing because you need structure and accoutabiliy. We are a home church, though I don't speak for all of them but, we do have all that...We have structure, accountabilty and support of an organization with overseers... forrestkc this can be true that some small home churches seem cultish but look at David Koresh, Jim Jones...They had many members.... You said: If you ask me, its more important to find a good church that you like and that works for you, rather than to be focused simply on the size of a church. I pose this: Should we not be lead of the Lord to do HIS work and not what works for us? Yes, the size I feel does play a role in this...I could say the Pharisee's loved a crowd and love to dawn robes with tassels for all to see... LambofJesus: I don't see your post as a rant at all...I ask though because it does puzzle me: Why 3 services with a small group and the same people attend the services? Does the preacher preach the same thing at all 3? Just curious.... -
Mega Churches vs small gatherings

Okay, I do have views and opinions on this subject, but I am reserving them till after I ask some questions of which I have a few.... 1. Can anyone show me in the bible where the scripture says that a church is to have more than 1 Shepard? My thoughts/beliefs on this is that a Shepard (Pastor) is the overseer of the sheep...He is to protect them from the "wolves." Which brings me to my next question... 2. How can a Shepard protect 2000 people from a wolf? Which brings me to my next question 3. If we are to be a Body of Christ, members united together to do HIS work, then how can a Shepard allow people to just sit there and do nothing? How will he know if one is sick or affecting the whole body? I have always wondered about these things and I am seriously seeking the answers to them....My husband Pastor's a home church of which we are a small community...I love it...We can focus on each person if need be and we work together as a Body of Christ...Does not the Word tell us we, and an individual, are the church and that we together make up the Body of Christ? I do believe it does... I don't personally don't see how a mega church can funciton as a Body of Christ....Yes, it has a lot of financial support behind it, but is that the number one important issue? -
Would God allow us to sin? for His will?
Shortstop replied to Benobi1's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Just yesterday I had to go into my secret place to get alone with God...Someone close to me was scammed out of a large sum of money...My uncle is 71 years old, a business owner and dedicted Christian...He is faithful to the Lord in all things, he teaches the Word, he donates his time to those in need, he preaches at Star of Hope, but like everyone on the planet, he has his flaws, sins, though none intentional... This was my plea before the Lord yesterday and His answer to me.... Yesterday I had to get alone with God....I began to feel burden down with this situation concerning my uncle....I went into my secret place and cried out to the Lord, WHY! WHY! WHY! did You allow this to happen to my uncle? I was pleading my uncles case before the Lord, that he is a faithful man, he has dedicated his life to the Lord, he is a wonderful teacher...I asked the Lord to speak to me, not in a vision/dream or by some person, I need to hear his audiable voice plainly and clearly.... I had began to feel if my uncle didn't have a chance to escape from the "wolf" then man, I don't even have a chance.... Soon the Lord did begin to speak to me....He filled my mind with the answers, I began to be consumed with peace and comfort...I felt a heavy burden lift and an appropreiate amount of burden remain...This is what I walked out of my secret place knowing... "The Lord God loves us so much that He gives us the desires of our heart even if that desire is to worship an idol...It is our free will to choose...When the enemy sought out to destory Martin, he did so very cunningly. It was over a period of time and very, very, very slowly...Martin, unfortunately, feel into this trap and began at one point to desire the 8,500,000.00 dollars he was being promised by these scammers. Even though his actions appeared to be godly and in order, in his heart, those things that remain secret to us, where laid out and spilled before the Lord. Martins eyes though once free became filled with a bondage, a miss judgment. This prospect of money became a desire and it replace the desire for the Lord and became an idol before the Lord. He became all consumed by this and the Lord being a loving God allowed it to happen, because the Lord gives us the desires of our hearts. TO NOT do so, would make God a liar, of which He is not." God loves us so much that the choice is ours...So, if one falls back into drug use it is by the choice of the person...God allows it, because it is the desire of the heart....The Lord does not want us to sin on His behalf, to gain anything in any form from sinning... -

forrestkc said: "Everything is not the blame of illegal immigrants." And I ask: Have you walked into a free clinic lately? If not I ask that you find a free hosptial AND a free clinic and take a look around... Before you ask, YES I have... A little history.... 25 years ago I was young, married with one child...My husband got laid off and we were without a job and healthcare for a period...He had a hard time finding a job because he was epliptic. We had to file for assitance. 25 years ago before the Welfare Reform Act the majority of people on welfare were those who felt the government owed them something for past behavior. Having a baby at that time mean't more money in the welfare check and more TANF money as well...The Welfare Reform act changed all this...People actually had to get up, go to work and be responsible for their own actions... Now fast forwarded to just 3 years ago....My husband's company shut down, I am disabled and need constant access to medical care. We had to file for assitance until he found a new job because now COBRA is why to expensive. His unemployment at 100% was not even enough to pay for COBRA...We went down and guess what I was asked? Do you need English or Spanish forms, HUH? because now 99% of the people in there spoke only spanish....WHen I went to the free clinic guess what I was asked? Do I need English or Spanish forrms, HUH? Why do I have a choice, I am an AMERICAN who only speaks ENGLISH! On a side note: I recently walked into the Social Secuity office and guess what I see... When 12 million people that don't pay taxes, because they are not on the tax roll, take advantage of our system, the system breaks for those who are legally here who need it...But you are RIGHT, everything is not to blame on the illegals here, its partly them and the other 50% is our blind government...

Yes, we would. We are footing the bill for emergency room visits for nonemergencies and maternity care for millions of people who are not entitled. Yes; have a choice of health plans, paid for according to income. But, NO free ride for anyone unless they are disabled or over 70. I personally know people from South America and Mexico who won't sign up for the company plan because they can go to the clinics and the emergency rooms. Everyone should have to pay their way. Yes, good idea. Unfortunately, it won't happen. Yes, this is true. I have taken others to these clinics and they are packed to the ceiling ALL the time. And English is not spoken too often. The bottom line is....we need an overhaul of the health care system in the U.S. and all the partisan sniping and political posturing won't change that fact. Whether it's 'Hillary Care', or something totally opposite, things have to change. I would be inclined to vote for the candidate that has some ideas that are workable. We speak with our votes, folks, so vote for the candidate that makes health care a priority. I would disagree... I don't think healthcare is the government's job, so I don't care where it is on their list, as long as they're not planning on interfering with private lives. No, healthcare is not the governments job to provide it BUT I do hold the governement responsible for NOT protecting the American people from the following... 1. Big business lobbiest... 2. Healthcare costs rising at a rate most American's can not afford... 3. Healthcare premiums soaring at a rate that is unattainable. For example: My husband's company, which employee's 300 plus people, less than 80 people govern for the companies healthcare. In one year's time our premium went from $480 dollars a month to $1100.00 dollars a month. Yes, that would be 13,200 a year just for the premiums. That is profit motive driven insurance companies at their best, why? Because health insurance is a big lobbiest that is purchasing OUR government and the insurance company is getting away with it AND those who refuse to sign up for it because they can just go to those FREE clinics... Government is supposed to be for the people, but somewhere down the line it became "Government for self interest, ridiculous earmarks, and lobbiest money." If our government would have kept it's eye's on the people of this country our borders would have remained protected and this surge of illegal aliens would not have happened. Don't let me leave off the biggie, OIL! Oil, oil, oil.........Our government is driven by oil..... When Goverment fails to protect the American people things begin to fall apart around us...Systems begin to break down, systems become overloaded and backed up, where there was once a surplus, now there is mega debt and that my friend affects my private life. How does it affect my private life? I will start out with the street I live on, can't get anymore private than that....30 years ago, the street I live on consisted of elderly people, it was quite and and peaceful through here. Everyone kept their yards mowed...Elderly couples walked in the street in the morning and in the evening...NOW...Fast forward to 2007...I have to drive slowly down my street now, not to avoid the elderly, but to avoid running over the chickens that are now running loose all over the place because those who are from a distant country feel it is okay to bring this zoo out in the open. Not to mention the goats that eat the garden....The peaceful sound has been replaced with a music I can't understand, with of course the occasional YELL! I didn't realize that 8 families could fit into a SINGLE family dwelling until these past 15 years now....Where once green plush yards once were, now is covered with dust because front yards became a driveway, thus it is impossible to keep my car clean because the swish of dust flies through the air as each car passes my house...What grass the car tires did not kill, the goats eat...The drunken driving rates have soared especially in my neighborhood, why? Some genius thought it would be profitable to build a huge spanish dancehall right in our neighborhood. This place is 2 stories and can contain 1000's of people. He makes 250,000 dollars in one night PROFIT! Just this past year, he built a second one right next to it. These two places are at the edge of my neighborhood and right next to the freeway. I can no longer drive out on a Saturday night because #1 the streets are clogged with traffic and it has become very dangerous to stay out late especially when people begin to leave these places... I am not saying this in prejudice at all...This is actually my life situation and I live it every day....This is my surroundings....Government, or shall I say lack of government has already affected my private life....They have shut their eyes to REAL situations because of greed and self interests.... One last thing....You say 110 billion dollars to anyone making let's say 12,000 a year and it will sound like a windfall...It will make sense to the poor man because his concept of money is different than someone who makes a million dollars a year....So to say 110 billion dollars will pay for it all is a joke....

Jesse Jackson: Obama "acting like he's white"

Quote from the article: -
Greetings... Hillary....Hillary....Hillary....She tries doesn't she....I am woman hear me roar and all that jazz... I don't know where I stand on this national health care plan thing yet...I want to watch Michal Moore's film Sicko, but haven't had the chance yet...Prolly will wait until the DVD comes out...But I did catch a news piece with him, it exposed a bit of Moore's "I wanna be in that line..." That line being in the long, long, long, long wait line to see a doctor in the countries that do have national health care.... Here are a few things that are rolling around in my head...To bring no offense to anyone of course.... 1. Would we not have adequate money in the budget if we didn't pay for non-citizen's health care needs? OR if we do, charge their citizen country for their care.... 2. Throw out all plans but the top 5, rework those and still allows us to choose.... 3. Give all people the same retirement benefits that our governement gets....(Okay this has nothing to do with insurance, it's my own little riot.) 4. Put limits with some bending room on the amount of times you could see a doctor each year....This will control costs...Why? Have you ever walked into a free clinic? I have...It's always packed wall to wall...Now just imagine free health care for all and that chair you claim in your doctor's office will fill quickly....If you have never walked into free clinic, do so...Go see for yourself what free health care will bring.... I would love to see the system changed...I would love to see our govenment actually stand up for the American people....The system is broken and only getting worse...It used to be a time where you had no choice but to live within your means, but someone fell asleep at the controls and allowed wild free credit approvals...I can remember back when I was younger in my early 20's, you could not get a credit card if you had a mar on your credit record... This wild credit spending in all area's by it's citizens and by our government is going to be its down fall....

Good start. I think it is more than that though. A true legalist is like a Pharisee who desires to earn righteousness and thus makes up new laws like the Mishnah, which were never God's laws, in order to be able to present a righteous appearance by obeying them. God's true laws are not harsh even though they may be difficult. They are not binding ones soul though they may be tough to reach perfection in. In fact because God's laws reveal the fallibility of humanity versus the holiness of God, we can never perfectly obey God's Laws without Christ. God's laws are about the soul, spirit and heart. It's not about automated actions. A true legalist prefers the automated actions that give an appearance of righteousness, rather than the struggle to change ones heart to be like Christ. To quote OopsMartin... A true legalist prefers the automated actions that give an appearance of righteousness, rather than the struggle to change ones heart to be like Christ. Can you say, "hit the nail on the head?" Yep....

Hi im new can i ask everyone a question please?
Shortstop replied to a topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Does anyone know of any christian churches or organizations which are aware of the New World Order and satans minions in positions of power today? Especially in london because i really want to meet some other christian who know whats going on worldwide at present? I have been studying conspiracys for the past 5 years and it has become more and more apparent that this isn't just a few corrupt politicians and bankers it is something more sinister and spiritual than that. It is a spiritual war between good and evil. So just to re phrase that. Does anyone know any churches that are fighting the "Mark of the Beast"? [REV 13:17]And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Greetings mr norton... Can I ask you a question? If so, here is that question...How long have you been a Christian now? If you are just now coming into the knowledge of Jesus Christ I have a suggestion for you... Keep your eyes on Jesus...This fight is not our own, we don't fight against flesh and blood, but of spiritual darkness.... Yes it is good to know what is taking place in the world, and the world's systems, but one can get consumed so much that their eyes and focus is on that and not on the LORD....Look up! Not on what is taking place in this world...This world system of corruption will soon pass away...A new Heaven and Earth is on the way! -
Hi im new can i ask everyone a question please?
Shortstop replied to a topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I suggest the KJV printed version dated 1611. This is the best one.... The bible tells us not to forsake the gathering together in fellowship. Yes, you should fellowship with other Christians...You should be hearing the Word of God...I hear the Word of God from preachers or teachers I don't stop there....I take what they said, weigh it with the Word on my own....I allow the Holy Spirit to guide me into truth...Upon doing this -- this developes my personal relationship with the LORD.... Jesus fulfilled the laws when He completed His work on the Cross....Our moral compass is the 10 commandmants of which guides us and exposes our sins if we break on the 10 commands... -
Hi im new can i ask everyone a question please?
Shortstop replied to a topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Greetings mr noton.... Have you given your life to Christ? If so, you have began a repentance process. You once served the enemy that kept you deceived and in darkness. If you have given your life to Christ you have now given your life to Christ, meaning your life is no longer your own... If you repented with a sincere heart you are forgiven and DO NOT return to that sin. The bible tells us that when we repent that God throws our sins into a sea of forgetfulness and HE remembers them no more...It is our memory that brings up our past and yes the enemy is fast in making us feeling condemned for those past forgiven sins...If God no longer remembers forgiven sin, don't allow condemnation to let you remember it... Pride can surely blind a person to the truth...Intellect will always take a leglism path and argue the point into the ground because intelligence always seeks to be the smartest rock in the room.. If you have only given thought to giving your life to Christ, I would do so before it's to late. Truly giving your life to Christ means repenting of your sins and acknowleding who Jesus Chris is, what He did for you on the Cross, and being the only Son of God.... We all have sin so many times, it is impossible to verbalize all of them...But along the way, the Holy Spirit will bring up unrpentant sin, repent and move along...Don't wallow in repentant sin...Believe that God really does forgive you.... You know your life is given over to Christ because you will begin to live your life for Him, seeking to do His will and not your own.... I hope this helps.. -
Legalism is an attempt to get a person to conform to your belief but the person who ministers that belief does so without mercy and grace....Look at the Pharisee's and Saudicee's you will have a great example of legalism...
