Hi antiaging Thank you for your comments; however, I have to disagree based upon the fact that you while you refer to Revelation 6:8 to support your opinion, you have overlooked Revelation 13 Are you saying that the one fourth of the earth is a part of the all kindreds, and tongues, and nations? The antichrist system infiltrates governments with spies. He will have some control, but not total control, in all nations. There are scriptures in Daniel, Revelation and Joel that seem to show that the antichrist is going to be at war with others all the way up to armageddon when Christ returns. And if the antichrist is still going to be making war, until the end, then he cannot have total control over all nations. Daniel 7 or 8 and Daniel 11 show the antichrist beginning his conquest invading the middle east moving toward Israel. It looks like the european armies under his control will be marching against the muslims of the middle east. Antichrist will already have control over Israel during the last 3.5 years till the end. When the armies of the kings of the east march westward toward Israel to be gathered for armageddon, they must be marching against the antichrist forces of the 10 nations in Europe that he controls. So antichrist should not have control over the kings of the east, China, Japan, etc. [The vatican has very little control there now.] Armageddon looks like the kings of the east marching westward to fight with the European armies of the antichrist and when all of the armies meet at the plains of megiddo, there the Lord will return with an army of angels and destroy all of the armies that are gathered. The overcoming of the saints in Rev. 13:7 is also referred to in Dan. 12 which Dan. 11 leads right into. The vile person in Dan. 11 from verse 21 onward is the antichrist. And Dan. 11 leads right into chapter 12; chapter breaks are arbitrary.

The only one world government in scripture is the reign of the saints with Jesus for a thousand years and after that forevermore in the new Jerusalem city. Since you were the first to use the "false doctrine" label, tell me, what scripture could you possibly have for claiming that the last 7 years till the end of the world called the tribulation period ... ?? ~clay The last 3.5 years is called the great tribulation. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Ah, now you're getting scriptural. And the parallel passage in Mark (13:19) states "For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will." So if Scripture talks about any eschatological time period called "The Tribulation," it's not the 70th week becuase it does not begin until the middle of the week (Daniel 9:27). Aha, so then "The Tribulation" does not last the entire 3.5 years (the second half of the last week) becuase it is "shortened." So, a Biblical use of the term Tribulation concerning a future time period refers to some time less than 42 months that begins in the middle of the last seven years and ends before the end of the seven years. I wonder what happens during the remaining 70th week after the end of the "Tribulation" ? Ever notice how these are the very cosmic disturbances in response to the Sixth Seal? (Revelation 6:12) I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. Just a though, but if "The Tribulation" ends at the sixth seal, could the rest of the judgments occur after the Tribulation (which is cut short) but before the 70th week is complete? At the sounding of the seventh trumpet the end comes. It happens also at the end of the tribulation period like the seals do. The trumpets also go to the end of the tribulation period, from the context of what is said. vials: Revelation 15:1 shows the vials to be the last plagues. At the end of the tribulation period you have a great earthquake. The same earthquake is mentioned 3 times, at the end of the seals, trumpets and vials, because they all end at the time of the earthquake. So, from the context of what is written, the seals, trumpets and vials go all the way to the end of the tribulation period when Jesus comes back. So, they must overlap each other in the chronology of how the events are going to happen. John gave the separate visions in the order that the visions were given to him. You need to look at the context of what is said in the visions to fill in the chronology of when the events are going to happen. If you try to see it as actually happening in the order that it is written there will be contradictions. Contradictions always show that the interpretation is wrong. True interpretations have no contradictions.

The babylonian mystery religion is baal worship which spread into many different lands when the people were scattered from the tower of babel. A form of baal worship got into the old pagan roman religion, and many of these pagan practices got into roman catholicism. So, Roman catholicism is the babylonian mystery religion mixed with Christianity; all mixed up together. Purple and scarlet are catholic colors. Scarlet the color of cardinals and purple the priesthood. Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Reigneth is present tense to the time of the writing. Rome was the city that reigned over the kings of the earth at the time of the writing. The woman is a city, she is also a whore, [false religion] and it must be the city of Rome that is refered to because rome is the city that reigned when John wrote that.--the religion centered in rome is catholicism. [ John is calling Rome babylon. This is not unusual for John to call a city by the name of another city to make a spiritual comparison. John calls Jerusalem, where our Lord was crucified, Sodom and Egypt to make a spiritual comparison. Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.] A description of the destruction of the city called babylon shows that it cannot be Babylon in Iraq. It says that men standing in ships will see the smoke of the city burning. You cannot see the smoke of babylon in Iraq burning from the sea. It is far from the sea and is land locked. Rome is a port city which is next to the sea and the company in ships can see Rome burning from the sea. Revelation 18:17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, Revelation 18:18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! So the fall of Babylon in Revelation is about the destruction of the city of Rome and the religion centered in Rome which is catholicism. I think the antichrist must order rome and catholicism destroyed before he can set up the worship of himself at Jerusalem during the last 3.5 years till the end. The book is a Christian classic that has been around for a long time. Brother one can find anything thay want to match up with there ideas anywhere but is it true or does it line up with scripture? These question I have asked are straight to the point questions and when I asked them I knew that they could not be answered by scripture because the answers do not exist in the bible which means that if the bible doesn't say it then it is not. And I don't need to be reading any book written by a man that tells me what the bible says but in reality does not. My own belief is that the one would religion will be Islam and the Pope will serve as the false prophet until the antichrist takes him out of the way. The bible says have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Reprove means expose. You are supposed to expose the evil works of darkness and bring them to light. All that reproves is light. Look up inquisition on the internet. Apparently catholics like to bash others of other religions; and their bashing is physical torture and murder. Dan. 11:23 till the end of Dan.11 shows what the antichrist will do during the last 7 years till the end when the dead are raised and Jesus comes back. Causing the sacrifice and oblation to cease 9:27 is the same as Daniel 11:31. The restrainer from the context of the verses, is that the apostacy or falling away from the faith must happen before antichrist is revealed. The he who now restrains (at the time of the writing) is referring to the christians that have not fallen away from the faith yet {taken out of the way}. [NOTE: The apostacy has happened now, and the restrainer is no longer here. There is so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin. It saddens me that this kind of perversion of science and philosophy is so readily lapped up by the masses. I was an agnostic physics student arguing against the existence of God in philosophy class in the 1970s. I found out that I was wrong. I decided these arguments don't really prove anything, but I was taught that experimental evidence does prove something. I did an experiment to test for the existence of God. I started getting evidence after that. UFOs and alien sightings could prove God's angels exist. I got definite evidence that devils exist, when I started reading the new testament and heard thoughts in my mind that were not my own thoughts, as if they were being telepathically thrown into my mind by devils. Then Jesus Himself appeared to me in a night vision and paraphrased something from the King James bible to me. His voice was with real power and I felt like anything He says is going to happen, while in His presence, like He is God. I heard one word after another like normal speech, but when I thought about it, it seemed to happen in the same moment of time, like time made no sence. So, I got experimental evidence that God exists, and that bible Christianity is the only true religion. That happened in 1975, and I have been a fundamentalist Christian ever since. Now, knowing for sure that God exists, I can see the truth in the arguments of the original post, except for the big bang theory and the 2nd law of thermodynamic theory about the two cups. The part about entropy I agree with. Energy according to science can be neither created or destroyed, so the idea that the universe would have run out of energy, is scientifically not true based on the physics we have now. But the energy would have become all disordered and the universe would have become like a warm soup of nothing if it existed forever. So it must have had a beginning. I agree with that. The big bang is just a theory. Since God exists, He could have created an expanding universe without an original bang. Look closely at the probability that Hoyle predicted. That is a very strong argument that the complex human cell was created and could not have happened by chance. Entropy says that natural processes tend to more disorder, and not more order. That is observed in science. The amount of ordered complexity in the human cell could not have happened by chance or to state it another way, the probability against that is so high as to consider it to be impossible. God designed the human cell deliberately. It was not by chance.

The book of Revelation is understandable. Ask God in prayer to show you the proper understanding of it, and then listen to the King James version bible on tape of the book of revelation about 100 times, more or less. You should also know the rest of the bible very well to help avoid contradictions with other books. You should start to understand it. The book is not sealed, it is understandable. The way I understand prophecy, the next big prophecy to happen is the Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 prophecy about nations uniting with Russia to attack Israel. God gives Israel the victory over them, by an earthquake and they destroy one another, with fire falling on them and on mainland Russia, it looks like from the prophecy. The nations in the prophecy are: Russia, Iran/Iraq, Ethiopia, Turkey, and maybe Germany or France. That is what scholars say are the modern countries occupying the lands in the prophecy. I believe the 7 year reign of the antichrist cannot happen until the Ezekiel prophecy is finished for some time. As you can see from world events, the Ezekiel prophecy is not about to happen yet. Israel was threatening to attack Iran, because they are developing nuclear bomb technology and have spoken openly about destroying Israel. Russia warned Israel to back off. I saw an Israeli leader on TV say that they would attack Iran if threatened. If Israel attacks Iran, then this could provoke a counterattack by Russia and a coalition of nations to fulfill the Ezekiel prophecy. After that happens, Israel rebuilds the temple and sets up a daily sacrifice. Antichrist gains his control over the 10 nations from the EU, and makes a 7 year treaty of some sort with Israel. Then the last 7 years till Christ's return begins, and the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse start to ride. It would start with war, in the middleast region, getting closer to Israel, according to Dan. 7 and 11; and some of God's punishments falling on men for their sins, which they refuse to repent of. 3.5 years into the period the Antichrist takes over Israel and sets up his throne in Jerusalem. The two witnesses prophecy against the antichrist and smite the earth with plagues for the last 3.5 years while the final and most devastating punishments from God hit the human race. Two main reasons why the end cannot be too far off, is the population of the human race is now so high that it threatens to interfere with the eco system that supports the human race; and every year it increases by about another 100 million more or less. Prejected 9 billion in the next 40 years; the technology we have now cannot support such a population. It looks like large famines and disease must happen on the malnurished human race in the near future. The second reason is global warming which will accelerate to destroy crops and change the weather and cause seaside cities to start flooding. [Over population is the main cause of global warming.] Even without bible prophecy the prospects for the human race as a whole show trouble coming because of overpopulation and its effects. So, the end cannot be too far off. [One more awful idea: The people in control might think in the future that nuclear war is desirable to decrease the human population. Since nuclear bombs were developed there have been no major world wars; people are afraid of nuclear war. In the future, when the population is so high that 70% or more of the whole human race is malnurished, nuclear war might be seen as a means to decrease the population rapidly. They won't be so timid about using those big H bombs then. Example: In africa elephants are shot to keep the population down, otherwise they would eat too many trees and they could lose the whole herd of elephants.] When the antichrist goes forth conquering and to conquer, nuclear bombs could be part of that.

The power of the antichrist is going to come from kings and people supporting him. Like it says in Dan. he will have mighty power but not by his own power. Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. The way it is written, the woman in Rev.17 has the name mystery babylon, and it says the woman is that great city that reigns over the kings of the earth. Rome is the city that reigned over the kings of the earth when that was written. Rome reigns over catholic kings now. They must obey the pope or be excommunicated. John is spiritually calling Rome babylon like he spiritually called Jerusalem, where our Lord was crucified, Sodom and Egypt. Bible scholars have for centuries identified the babylon in Revelation as Rome. Babylon in Revelation is going to be destroyed. The 10 nations that give their power to the antichrist are going to destroy babylon. So it looks like, about 3.5 years from the end, the antichrist is going to have no more use for Rome or the Roman catholic church and he is going to order Rome destroyed, probably by a nuclear attack since it says it will be destroyed in one hour. The antichrist is going to set up his kingdom in Jerusalem for the last 3.5 years pretending to be God in the temple. [Hitler showed an example of this. The SA brought him to power beating up people in the streets, and when he was elected he destroyed the SA and then used the SS to stay in power. It seems the antichrist is going to do the same sort of thing. He uses the catholic church to obtain his power, then by flattery he gains control over 10 kings from the EU to support him, then he destroys the catholic church and Rome, that brought him to power in the first place, and then he rules using the 10 nations as his support, and rules from a different city, as world dictator, in Jerusalem. Pope benedict was a Hitler youth in germany, he saw Hitler do this sort of thing. He was also the grand inquisitor of the modern office of the inquisition, which is now called the congregation for the doctrine of the faith.] So, toward the end when the antichrist sets himself up as world dictator people will not need to belong to the catholic church to support him. He will have destroyed Rome and the catholic church by that time. Let's just say the religion is going to change into something resembling the old babylonian religion of Nimrod and his wife, from long ago, setting up the eighth kingdom of Revelation 17, the beast that was and is not and yet his.

The oldest manuscript shows 616, not 666. Given the uncertainty around what the number really should read, I doubt you can rely on this to tell you who the antichrist is. We've apparently been "close to the end" for about 2000 years. There has been time enough for 15 other Pope Benedicts, for all we know there is time enough for 15 more. The real number John wrote is 666, it is not 616. The oldest manuscript does not have the oldest text copy. The oldest text is the byzantine text from antioch in asia minor. This is the majority text that is an accurate copy of the original text circulated by the apostles and their followers. The King James version is translated from this original unaltered text, byzantine majority text also called textus receptus. The text that has 616 is from corrupted manuscripts that were corrupted in Alexandria Egypt by gnostic heretics in the 4th century. Most modern versions of the bible use this corrupted texts, primarily the corrupted vaticanus and sinaiticus manuscripts. 5% of the Alexandrian text was deliberately altered and is not the original writing. If you want the real bible, then use the King James version. The KJV has 666 in Revelation 13 and that is what John wrote. The bible contains plain statements that plainly mean what they say, and no interpretation is necessary. The bible also contains some statements that are not plain, and you need to interpret the meaning to understand what is said. The bible does not contradict itself, when properly understood. Whenever an interpretation contradicts a plain statement, then that interpretation is false, and another interpretation must be found. There are 3 plain statements that say plainly that the rapture is after the tribulation period and at the end of the age. There are no plain statements that say that the rapture is before the tribulation period. A plain statement showing that the rapture happens at the resurection of the righteous dead; 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. A plain statement that the resurection is at the last day, so the rapture must be at the last day of the age: (The person saying that didn't know anything about the 1000 year reign and meant the end of the present age.) John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Plain statement showing the resurection at the last trumpet. 1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. There is no last trumpet before the tribulation period. The last trumpet is the 7th trumpet in revelation which happens after the 6th at the end of the tribulation period. There are NO plain statements saying that the rapture is before the tribulation period. There are only misinterpretations of some scriptures used to support that view. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: The one in 2 Thessalonians is not referring to the rapture at all. It is referring to the falling away from the faith (apostacy) that is supposed to happen before antichrist is revealed.--Taken out of the way, in the apostacy. [That apostacy has already happened with the ecumenical movement pulling church leaderships under the control of the vatican, and the true gospel not being preached and fake bibles that have the words changed being widely accepted.] They try to force an interpretation saying it refers to the rapture based on some vague idea that the church is a restraining force and must be raptured out; but it is not a plain statement. It must be a false interpretation because it contradicts the 3 plain statements that the rapture is post tribulation and at the resurection which is also post tribulation. Show me a plain statement saying the rapture is pre tribulation. You cannot because there isn't any. The pre trib rapture is based only on bad interpretations of harder to understand scriptures and someone's ideas about this or that. There are no plain statements saying it. The idea that the church is a restraining force against the antichrist also contradicts a plain statement that the antichrist will scatter the power of the church before Jesus comes back. So, that is a false idea. Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. The only people that will be holy at the time of the end are the real Christians.

Summary of my understanding of Revelation: First 3 chapters are letters to the churches in Asia telling them what is wrong with them and what they need to correct. Chapter 4 starts a whole new discourse about what will happen in the future. Jesus lived without sin and offered Himself a sacrifice for mankind so He prevailed and beat Satan, and He has the right to open the book with the 7 seals. These are the things that will happen on the last 7 years till the end of the age when Jesus returns. 1st seal: The future evil leader, the antichrist goes forth to conquer the world militarily. 2nd seal: The leading general of the coquering army starts the war. 3rd seal: Food is scarce as a result of the war, there is starvation. 4th seal: Shows that the war is over a 4th of the earth; many will die and go to hell in the war and famine caused by the war. 5th seal: The antichrist and his servants will kill many saints. The saints will pray for God to take revenge. 6th seal: Jesus returns, at the end of the 7 years, to take over the world by force. The evil doers are afraid and will hide themselves. Chapter 7 a completely new vision. 144,000 Jews of Israel will become Christians before the punishments of God are poured out on the Earth. Chapter 8: God starts to punish the people of the Earth for their sins as the 7 trumpets blow. Seems like a meteorite shower causing fires. Seems like a big meteorite or a comet hits the sea and poisons the water killing many people. Sun partially blocked possibly by large dust cloud caused by the comet or meteorite or asteroid--whatever it will be. An army of demons is released, like locusts, that will hurt the unsaved men with great pain.-- a sting like a scorpion Another army of either demons or men making war will cause many men to be killed by fire and smoke. Men still don't stop sinning; so more punishments will come. Rev. chapter 10 Jesus returns at the 7th trumpet. That is when the saints will be resurected and the living saints will rise with them to meet Jesus in the air at His return--This is spoken of by Paul; look up last trump chap. 11 Jerusalem is conquered by the antichrist and his followers and they will walk in Jerusalem for 42 months. That happens 3.5 years before the end when Jesus comes back. Two prophets of God testify against the antichrist during the 3.5 years and they speak out punishments on the people for their sins and the punishments happen to men. They will be killed shortly before the end and lie in the street 3 days. Then they will come back to life and be resurected. Then the end comes before Jesus returns. 12 Israel brings forth the Messiah Jesus. Satan was waiting to kill Him. Israel will flee into the wilderness when the antichrist takes over Jerusalem 3.5 years from the end. Satan and his devils will no longer be allowed to enter into heaven to accuse the saints falsely like they did to Job in the old testament. Satan and his devils are denied access to heaven and must stay on the earth. Satan makes war against the Jews that are saved Christians. 13 The beast from the sea; the antichrist the last evil ruler His kingdom will be like medo persia, large, like greece cunning, he will speak with authority like the babylonian king, Satan will give the antichrist his power. Another man will cause the world to worship the antichrist and cause a mark or a number or a name to be needed by law in order to buy and sell. 14 Brief vision of the 144,000 Jews that became christians standing on mount Sion. Another vision: Warnings given to the Earth that if any worship the antichrist he will be tormented forever in fire. rev. 14:15,16 Jesus comes and raptures up the saints to meet Him in the air. rev. 14:17-20 Armageddon ---The armies of the Earth are slain in the valley of Megiddo 15 AND 16 The last punishments of God, the vials This happens mostly during the last 3.5 years. Sores on the men that worship the antichrist, the sea becomes like blood- either a large amount of iron oxide in the water are a reference to all on the sea dying, rivers and fountains of water become blood. --Possibly a large amount of iron oxide (rust) in the water from a large amount of iron in the sea from the asteroid that hit. (Iron oxide in the hemoglobin is what gives blood the red color)-- or blood being used figuratevely to indicate death. Men scorched with fire and heat and in pain with darkness. Men still will not repent of their evil. Euphrates river is dried up so that the armies from the East can come to the valley of Megiddo for armageddon to happen. Devils go out to bring the armies there. Great earthquake and great hail causing destruction. This is shortly before Jesus returns. A new vision: It is about a false religion, the woman or harlot. It is the babylonian mystery religion, baal worship. It rules over 7 kingdoms which oppress Israel. Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo persia, Greece, are the 5 that are fallen. Rome is the one that is. Revived Rome made of 10 nations from the european union will be the 7th. The form of Baal worship that rules in Rome now, will rule over the 7th kingdom. See the Two Bablylons by Hislop on Google. Rome is the city that ruled over the kings of the Earth at the time of the writing. He refers to Rome as Babylon, a spiritual comparison. The 10 nations will destroy the religion and the city of Rome, and the antichrist will set himself to be worshipped in the city of Jerusalem for the last 3.5 years. 18 The destruction of Rome in one hour, possibly by a nuclear bomb. Another vision: God is praised for destroying the Roman form of Baal worship which killed many of the saints. Marriage supper of the lamb, possibly happening after the saints are raptured up at Jesus' return, maybe before armageddon maybe after it. Jesus returns with an army of angels and the saints to take over the world by force at amageddon. 19 Satan is bound a thousand years. There will be a thousand years of peace on the Earth with Jesus and His saints ruling the world. It seems like some people that never heard of Jesus, and they helped saints in their life times will be allowed to enter the thousand year reign. See the parable of the sheep separated from the goats in the gospels. Satan will be let loose to deceive whoever can be deceived as a final test of men near the end of the thousand years. The deceived men will gather to attack the saints and will be destroyed by fire. The devil is cast into the lake of fire to suffer forever. I suppose all of the demons go there. The unsaved dead are resurrected to be judged out of the books about their deeds. Whoever is not found in the book of life goes into the lake of fire to be tormented forever. Men are judged according to the words of the New Testament. 21 There is a new sky and a new Earth, no more sea. no more sorrow, nor tears nor pain nor death for the saints. A new Jerusalem 1500 miles square and high. Streets of gold, pearly gates bright with walls having precious stones and full of mansions. That is where the saved saints will live, happy forever. The testimony is ended.

The 70 years in Dan. 9 are conscerned with the nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. You can see that in Dan 9:24. Moreover it is referring to the time period going from the time when Dan. is under the reign of Medo-Persia till the end of the world when the everlasting righteousness is broght in. Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Dan. 11 is also referring to what happens to Israel, and also Jerusalem during the same time period going from Medo Persia to the end of the world on into Dan. 12. [chapter breaks are arbitrary] So the 70 weeks are described in detail in Dan. 11. Also, since all 70 weeks must happen on Israel as a people and on Jerusalem, they can only happen when Israel as a people are living in the land of Israel. Israel was not living as a nation in the land of Israel from AD 70 till 1948, which is why the last week the 70th is separate from the others. It says desolations are determined before the last week is spoken of. Those desolations lasted in history for over 1900 years. It ended when Israeli people again lived in the land as a nation in 1948, and later in control of Jerusalem, 1967. Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. The phrase "desolations are determined" separates verse 26 from verse 27 by over 1900 years. [The "one week" in 9:27, is the last and 70th week.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. What happens during the 70 weeks, in Dan. 9:24-27, is described in detail in Dan. 11. 70 weeks, of 7 years periods of punishment were prophecied to happen to Israel as a nation and Jerusalem. 69 of those weeks happened to the coming of the Messiah. The 70th week is spoken of as separate from the first 69 weeks, in Dan. 9:27. Daniel 11 describes what happens during the 69 weeks, and what will happen during the last, 70th week in the future. Historically, Alexander the great's kingdom was divided into 4 parts among his 4 generals. Daniel 11:3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. Daniel 11:4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. The northern kingdom containing Syria was at war with the southern kingdom of Egypt. Seleucid kings of Syria fighting the Ptolemies of Egypt. They would use Israel as a land bridge passing back and forth through Israel as they waged war. As they passed through they would persecute or punish the Jews. This went on for a long time involving different kings of the north and south. A rich king took over the northern kingdom, Tigranes, then Rome, under General Pompey, took it over from him, and made syria a tributary to Rome. So Rome became the northern kingdom. Pompey entered into Jerusalem and crucified many Jews. Daniel 11:13 For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. Daniel 11:16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. Pompey and Julius Caesar were contending for the leadership of Rome. Caesar broke with the Senate, and declared himself dictator. Acting on his own behalf he chased Pompey away. Pompey went to the isles of greece to take many people for a new army to fight Caesar. Caesar defeated Pompey and chased him to Egypt, where Pompey was killed by the Egyptians to please Caesar. Daniel 11:18 After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him. Julius Caesar then headed back toward Rome and had some minor wars in asia minor on his way back. Caesar went to Rome where he was assassinated by the Senators. Daniel 11:19 Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found. Julius Caesar was the first to occupy the estate of ruler of Rome and chief Roman pontiff, ruler of the religion of Rome. The next one to occupy that estate was Caesar Augustus. He ruled Rome in the glory of the kingdom, the most properous time for the Roman empire, called pax romano. Augustus raised two great taxings, the first one cause Joseph to go to Bethlehem to be registered. He died neither in anger nor in battle shortly after the second taxing. Daniel 11:20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. Verse Dan. 11:21, is about the future antichrist. You can trace from there to the end of chapter 11 and it is referring to the same man. [A time break from the death of Jesus the Messiah to the future antichrist is in Dan. 9:26. The same time break is in Dan. 11 going from Caesar Augustus, who was alive when Jesus was a boy, to the future antichrist. The difference in these two time breaks is only a matter of about 19 years. Both go from the Messiah to the future antichrist.] Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Estate meaning legal position or title. The estate, of ruler of the Roman empire and chief Roman Pontiff, ruler of the Roman religion has passed on to the popes of Rome. The last one to occupy the estate should be the future antichrist. The popes now rule what is called the holy roman empire. The 70th or last week of 7 years of punishment on Israel will start when the future antichrist makes a 7 year agreement with Israel. Daniel 11:23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. Dan. 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:... Dan. 11:23 till the end of Dan. 12 is describing the final 7 years of the end of the world which is also described in Revelation. It is called the tribulation period. The last 3.5 years of it is called the great tribulation period.

Comparison: There seems to be contentions among the denominations. Now this I say, that every one of you says, I am of Martin Luther (Lutheran); and I of John Calvin (Presbyterian); and I of John Wesley (Methodist); and I of Christ. Is Christ devided? Was Martin Luther crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Luther? I think you should be able to see what I am trying to say here. The scriptures seem to show that denominationalism is not correct.
