  1. Have you looked into the Constitution Party? No, I'm not registered with that party, but what I've read about their beliefs I like. My problem with a third party (or fourth or so on) is it takes votes away from the mainline party. What I mean by that is many conservatives didn't want to vote for McCain so they voted for the smaller parties which allowed the liberals to win. That's just my opinion and I will not defend my stance because I'm probably wrong I am very unhappy with both Republican and Democrat. I just wish King Jesus would hurry and reign. <>< ><> Nathele
  2. Here is a (long) article about the red heifer. It is from the Temple Institute website: http://www.templeinstitute.org/red_heifer/...er_contents.htm We do live in exciting times. <>< ><> Nathele
  3. Wow! That is exciting!! I couldn't find anything on the website for the Temple Institute, but the man did say they were keeping it quiet. Who can blame them? Thank you so much for sharing this. <>< ><> Nathele
  4. These are awesome! As people try to unlock the mysteries of God, the mystery just deepens. What beauty He has created. Thanks for sharing this. <>< ><> Nathele
  5. You bring out good points - things I have wrestled with and still do. There have been many times when I have been absolutely in awe of seeing how God has provided for food, shelter, and clothing. Things in my life seem to be heading in to a step by step faith that God will provide. In learning these steps I think of when my daughter was learning to walk her daddy would hold out his arms out to her, but she had to take that step of faith...pretty soon she was running. I do believe you are correct that there is coming a day very soon when our faith will be tested by fire. I was shocked about the home Bible study that was declared against the law. Wow. We do need to be sure where our faith is placed and learn to live by faith. <>< ><> Nathele
  6. Wonderful advice -- beautiful story. Thanks for sharing that. <>< ><> Nathele
  7. I grew up in a town of 500. I love small towns, but everyone is different. If you like Oriental food, why not learn to cook it yourself? As far as finding a church that fits your beliefs, be sure that your beliefs line up with what the Bible teaches, then if the local churches aren't Biblical you just might have to travel to church or else start a home fellowship. Is there a reason you have to live in the small town rather than the larger cities near to you since you have to go there to find work? <>< ><> Nathele
  8. Remember, the chapter and verse breaks were placed there after the Bible was written. They don't always come at the best place. Read chapter 17 - which is a continuation of chapter 16. Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Matthew 17:1-2 The word "Now" indicates that it is a continuation of the thought from chapter 16. As you study your Bible you might want to look at the commentaries at http://www.blueletterbible.org Another very good study help is http://www.gotquestions.org. I copied their answer here: Question: "Was Jesus' statement to the disciples in Luke 9:27 (also Matthew 16:28; Mark 9:1) incorrect?" Answer: Luke 9:27 says, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God." See also Matthew 16:28 and Mark 9:1 for the parallel quotes. In each of the synoptic Gospels, the next event immediately after this promise from Jesus is the transfiguration. Rather than interpreting Jesus' promise as referring to His coming the establish His kingdom on earth, the context indicates that Jesus was referring to the transfiguration. The Greek word translated
  9. That's just weird I wonder what they will come up with next. <>< ><> Nathele
  10. I just don't see the point in it. The days get gradually longer then gradually shorter. What is saved? Spring forward and by human clocks there is more daylight after most people get off of work. So what? I just don't understand and it is very annoying. My animals don't reset theyr clocks and they get hungry on the old time schedule! JamiLea - I did finish 2 quilts. I am so proud of me!!! I will probably be on the boards more now, but I really need to sell some! Big hugs back at you <>< ><> Nathele
  11. What does 'retrenched' mean, Benobi? sorry, i think in the USA you talk of "laid off" ... it is when you get let go because the company can't afford you any more... i work in retail... Sometimes God gives us stepping stones. Could He have provided this job for you in order to pay bills and eat until the right job was available? I think that you should send out some resumes, pray, and see what next step God has for you. <>< ><> Nathele
  12. I read somewhere the Ben Franklin first purposed this as a joke. I really don't understand what they are trying to save. There are still 24 hours (more or less) in a day, moving the hands of the clock doesn't change anything. Why not just change the work day from 7-4 or 9-6 or something. It really doesn't make sense to me. <>< ><> Nathele
  13. Spring forward Turn you clocks forward 1 hour before you go to bed --- unless, of course, you are in one of the places that don't change the time <>< ><> Nathele
  14. No, I won't watch. I don't have television reception. Even if I did I wouldn't watch. I never cared for Oprah...or any other talk show host since Johnny Carson left the Tonight Show I don't think Ellen Degenerate...er, Degeneres has anything to say that I care to hear. <>< ><> Nathele
  15. The husband is not to be a dictator. He is not to be a tyrant. He is to love his wife as Christ loves His church. He needs to be a man who seeks God's guidance in all matters and he needs to be a man who his wife can trust to make Godly decisions. He needs to be a man who his wife feels safe in submitting to. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. Colossians 3:16-19 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord [does] the church. Ephesians 5:22-29 You see, this isn't a command to the wife only, but also to the husband. Too often people like to pick and choose what they want the Bible to say without reading all of it. Yes, wives are to submit, but husbands are to be godly men. <>< ><> Nathele
  16. The Bible Codes are very interesting. I've done some study of them and other "evidence" that only God could have written the Bible and have come away amazed. Do the codes change the surface meaning of Bible? Absolutely not. Do they confirm what the words say? Yes. But should they - or can they - be used to predict the future? I don't think so. <>< ><> Nathele
  17. Gee, that's a surprise I don't know why they keep trying to find this mythical "missing link". Sometimes I think they aren't so much looking for it, but looking for a way to prove the Bible wrong. It's very sad. Thanks for sharing this article. <>< ><> Nathele
  18. Don't give up. God is with you and loves you. Doctors are used by God for healing and I don't see anything wrong with going to them for help. Did you know that Luke was a doctor? Remember that it is our faith in Christ and His perfection that is our salvation. None of us could ever be saved through our own perfection. We all fail...backslide, but don't turn away from God. You say that you want to ask God why He took everything away from you that mattered. That breaks my heart. I can hear the heartbreak you have when you say that. Remember, though, it isn't God who takes away from us. The evil in this world started back in the Garden of Eden when Satan spoke his lies and Adam sinned. Since then we have been forgetting to put the blame on Satan rather that God. We aren't promised a trouble-free life once we accept Christ as our Saviour, but He will see you through the rough times. If you read the book of Job you will see that Satan attacked Job every way he could, but Job was faithful to God and God restored double all that he lost. Will everything be restored to you? Perhaps not in the same way Job regained everything, but do look to God for your strength and guidance. <>< ><> Nathele
  19. Wanting a baby is not unusual especially for a person your age. Remember that God will fill your every need and it you cannot have a baby right now, submit to His will. I was 38 when I had my baby, and she really was/is worth waiting for. The love you will have for a baby when the time is right can be used now to love other babies. Could you volunteer in your church nursery? Or maybe teach Sunday school to youngsters? I would suggest that you find something to fill your mind -- a new hobby, or studying something new. <>< ><> Nathele
  20. Wow. What this person doesn't understand Salvation! Not knowing this person and just reading the quote, I thought that he was searching....no Biblical foundation of understanding what sin is and where it originated, and then not really understand his need for salvation from sin. My thought was that he might be a nice guy and figured he didn't need to be saved from sin and death, just that he felt he needed less fear in this life. Maybe an "all roads lead to Heaven" way of thinking. You say that he is all about Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but he sure seems as if he doesn't understand God's Truth. God is love, but His ways aren't our ways. This person seems to me as if he is trying to bring God down to man's level. I am probably wrong, but that is just what I thought after reading his quote. <>< ><> Nathele
  21. I haven't read anything either regarding the "red tape" involved in starting to rebuild the Temple. I do know that if God says build, they will. I've heard - I don't have any news articles to back this up - that they may be "pre-fabricating" the walls so that when it is time to build it will be fairly simple to put them up. Like I say, I haven't read any news reports about this, I just have heard people talk. The only reason I think there is a possibility of this being so is the person I heard say it does have friends in the government of Israel. <>< ><> Nathele
  22. It would probably cause trouble if you told him. Right now your sin was in thought, not action. Repent of it and ask God to forgive you, then take every thought captive and don't do this again. <>< ><> Nathele
  23. What about your husband. Does he attend church with you and is he the spiritual leader of your home? I ask this because it would make a difference in how you should handle this. If he is a strong Christian, talk to him about your feelings. I had been raised in a church that was pretty solid in what the believed, but when they began updating the Bible and changing God's truth I left it and cannot see myself ever going back to that church. My husband came to know Christ after we were married a few years. We attended a nice church filled with nice people, but they were very wrong in their doctrine. My husband didn't know good doctrine from bad so I encouraged him to study (not just read but study) his Bible. He began to see the problems and we left that church. If your husband is a Christian he needs to be the spiritual leader of your home and needs to be sure that you are worshipping in a Bible based, Christ centered church. If he is not a Christian then you need to take a strong look at the church you attend. If they are "spoon fed" and not encouraged to study, maybe you need to either start a solid ladies study yourself or it might be time to find a new church. The Holy Spirit may be urging you to move on to a new church. Pray about it. Don't give up your studies. You can never learn everything about God and His word, but you have a desire to learn and dig deeper into His word than many who profess to be Christians. This love for God and desire to know more is the Holy Spirit prodding an eager and willing spirit. What a blessing. <>< ><> Nathele
  24. If you go to http://www.blueletterbible.org there are chapter by chapter commentaries on the whole Bible. Just search for the verse you want (such as Revelation 1:1) and that will take you to that vers. Then click on the little "L" and that will take you to the commentaries (both text and audio). I like David Guzik to read, and I like Chuck Missler or Jon Courson to listen to. <>< ><> Nathele
