  1. 18? That's three divided by six.....right? Better get Mathqueen on this one For most people in Europe, this is what it means: IBAN: 1. Country-letters (2 digits) (ISO 3166-1) 2. Two checknumbers (2 digits) 3. Minimum 4 maximum 8 digits that represent your bank 4. The currentnumber of your bankaccount so it makes a accountnumber look like this: NL 32 ABNA 0123456789 --> for a current dutch (NL) bankaccount (0123456789) at Abn-Amro (ABNA) with checkdigits 32 BE 43 0689 99999501 --> for a random belgium (BE) bankaccount (99999501) at SNS-bank (0689) with checkdigits 43 DE 05 10020500 0003 2873 00 --> for a german (DE) bankaccount (3287300) at BSB (10020500) with checkdigits 05 So that doesn't make 18 numbers
  2. Today, the IBAN standard has been pronounced as new european standard for banking between countries in the euro-zone. This is a pre-step to Euro-wide operation banks (compared with nationwide banks now in Europe). On this moment it is just an addition to the bankaccountnumber you have right now (9 identifier numbers&letters + zerro's as needed + current number, making 18 numbers&letters), so tells the dutch associate press.
  3. wow... did they finaly told you guys too that it was just a good PowerPoint-slide show??
  4. Let me quote wikipedia: So, it is the fantasy of one single man, making a religion of it. That is doubtfull enough for me. Think of the first two of the Ten Commendants...

  6. <<<sissor editing>>> So while scientology is indeed a cult and a very bad direction, to me the biggest concern is actually the modern so-called church, which is breeding destructive cults left and right ranging from a few members to many thousands of members. Interesting thought
  7. A missionary worker that brings bibles from the Netherlands to China (which is forbidden officialy) told a story a couple of weeks ago, after he returned from a half year during trip. He told us that a mid-level security prison found out that 777 bible text were found on the wall of a chinese prison were christians were held because, well because they were christian. Those 3 prisoners started writing texts on the wall that they did remember, because they hadn't a book to read it from, they didn't got any postcards, or the possibility to surf on the internet. The writings on the wall helped the captured christian to keep on praying, praising and passionatly loving God. Maybe that is why it's so important, because you never know how long you will be able to use the facilities (books, internet) that you have right now. Atleast, that was the lesson for me.
  8. No, three... but that is an adaption of American historybooks. You can't help it. European historybooks will tell you that the marriage took place 84 hours before his death. 84 hours = 3 days, and 12 hours
  9. Hey everyone, Regular dutch newsmedia are reporting a war on the internet. Main source of the news is a video on YouTube. What is your opinion about this?
  10. It doesn't matter I think. I saw the way G. W. Bush won his re-election. Or should I say: with help some friends in court pointed out as winner? That is talking about politics nationswide. But local politics should be in focus by christians. On local scale, simple things can be done without all kind of idiotic rules, and it possible to have a much larger influence as a city of a town, then a beeing a citizing of a very large country. But then at the end... God is in control ...so it doesn't matter
  11. Compared with the distance from the moon to the earth? Yes The distance between Earth and Moon is about 238,855 miles . . . so why do you say it is close in comparison? it's just a factor 18 which is well... nothing if you talking about orbital objects. You can compare it with saying that New York is close to, when you are in Las Vegas e.g. compared to Moscow
  12. Compared with the distance from the moon to the earth? Yes
  13. As a former applied physics student, I can tell you, Niburu is a hoax, but there is something else (not determend yet: planet or gathering of meteors) heading to earth that could be on a collapse path, in 2012. But for now it is not shure to tell if it will get (and even: remain) on that path. It is a posibillity, but a very unshure one.
  14. Okay, well... uhm Somewhere in the world, hackers managed to hack a schoolcomputer. This resulted into a crowd of parents that demended the goverment should do something about this... (trying to point out to irrelativeness of this story)
  15. Well, you guys are just talking about the ENGLISH bibles. Guess what? I'm able to read dutch and german aswell, so that adds another 100 bibles... ...like the first translations by Luther (churchfather)
  16. Well, I have visited both zoo's. The problem isn't the "german"-factor, but the fact that these cubs were born in captivity. This is comparable with the fin on the back of whales.
  17. Gee...I guess just like the "broad generalizations" that atheists afford Christians. And the author backs up his words with his experiences debating atheists. This is how his logic goes; Bob is a bad debater Bob is an atheist Fred is also an atheist Therefore Fred must be a bad debater Well, I'm kinda new here, but reading the responces you all gave, it seams that everybody should learn something about debating. From a christian point of view: there is not one valid reason to debate anyway I guess; the main issue of any debate is to make a agreement between two people/organisations. When Jesus was in the desert for 40 days, the devil was there, more then just one time. Jesus was not negociating with the devil. He was firm. And so should we, I think
  18. Too bad he did... still searching for such recipe, my grandmother refuses to give away hers too ...I think, it is a new conspiracy: :emot-dance:
  19. That's your first mistake right there... You have to start at a certain point if you want to know more about certain things. As a journalist and political analyst for NRC (a dutch evening-newspaper) I usualy start talking with people and ask them what they know and want to tell. Usualy I end up with a dozen stories, all containing fragements from the truth. My job is then to analyse the true parts of it. Based on desicions made in the past, or other published facts, most of the time, it is possible to reconstruct what has to be written about a subject. But the problem with this subject is: nobody wants to talk about it. Example: I applied a requested for an interview with Prince Bernhard about his favorite role as father of Europe, in the light of a indepth-story about Europe getting united after WWII and the role of the Bilderberg-conference. In a official respond from the staff of the royal family answered: "The Prince cannot and will not tell anything more about the Bilderberg-conferences, other then the words he had spoken after the meeting in Oosterbeek, May 31 1954. Another example: I work with politicians; I have to, it's a part of my job. A well-known saying about politicians is: "if they are not kissing babies, they are stealing their lolly-pops". Politicians never say that what they do say is true, but only what is in the best interest of most people. If there is a press-conference about a policy-change, you realy have to do your homework, and that is: read the changed policy, checking differences with the past policy. That costs enormous amounts of time. But it is the only way to ask the politicians the questions that realy does matter. Because I do make my homework in time, some politicians refuse to talk with me, because I asking "things that shouldn't be brought" to the public. So... I get your point, but still, it is invallid. The Internet is a free medium to broadcast anything. Including lies. The problem with lies is, that they have to be consistent. So, if reading carefully, it is posible to make a difference between: "possible true" and "most likely not true". The most important thing is, that information that is shared on the internet, is either calculated (it won't bring harm to the wider public), or is allowed to be used against people that published such information. Therefore, I don't think it is a big mistake to read what is (and also: what isn't written) on the internet. If I used internet as my only resource, you are right in your short objective "first mistake"
  20. And you know this how? its a Computer Generated Image..done in photoshop if im not mistaken also..the moon orbits around the earth's equator(more or less) and is thus closer to Hawaii than the north pole thirdly the star behind the moon is meant as the sun(no other stars and bright daytime sky) but is much smaller than the sun would be anywhere on earth..or Mars for that matter And there is another problem with it aswell; there is no liquid water at the northpole, there is on this picture. The surface of the northpole consists of drift-ice (70,0%) and pack-ice (30,0%)
  21. After spending years and years in researching these things I can tell you that it's happening because Lucifer is hard at work getting mankind busy setting up this world for the end times prophesies of Daniel and Revelation. Don't sweat it if you are in the Book of Life......... if you are not in the Book of Life then be afraid........ very very afraid. Well, my name is written in the Book of Life, that's for shure, but still wondering what kind of sick world this already is (again: if true)
