  1. God spoke to his people in the Old Testament in many different ways. He spoke through Angles: Gen. 16 visions: Gen.15 Dreams: Gen. 28:10-19 The use of Urim and Thummin: Ex. 28-30 Symbolic actions: Jer.18:-1-10 A gentle whisper: 1 Kings 19:12 Miraculous signs: Ex. 8:20-25 and others This pattern of God speaking is found throughout the Old Testament. The method He used to speak was different from person to person. What is important is: God uniquely spoke to His people. They knew it was God They knew what He said When God spoke it was an encounter with God. God today speaks to us: Through the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 1:1-2) 1 John 1:1-4 John 14:8 John 14:9-10 In the Old Testament God spoke in many different ways. In the Gospels God spoke through His Son. In Acts and to the present He speaks by the Holy Spirit. God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways. Knowing God's voice comes from an intimate love relationship with God. God speaks when He has a purpose in mind for your life. The moment God speaks to you is the very moment He wants you to respond to Him. The moment God speaks to you is God's timing. All this information is from the Bible Study Book (Experiencing God:Knowing and Doing the Will of God) by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King. It is a great bible study.
  2. First, Jesus never made fun of evil spirits. He took it very seriously. Second, Always, look up in the Bible what people tell you. If it cannot be found in God's word then it is probably a lie. Ghosts are what they call familiars. Demons take the form of a person or animal that has died to fool others and lead them away from knowing God. Ghosts are not the actual person who has died, but a trick. Demons can scare Christians but cannot possess them. A Christian can dabble with these things games etc. but the consequences can be serious. Jesus says to have nothing to do with them. God gives everyone free will. A Christian can turn away from God and accept the devil. The question is if a person is truly a Christian and accepts the devil, was he truly a Christian to begin with? People who are possessed can have the demon casted out, only if that person wants to. After the demon is gone and they have accepted Christ they cannot be re-possessed. IF the person does not accept Christ into their hearts then they can be possessed again, but with even more demons. The Bible says that when a demon is casted out it will leave that person, go through the desert (dry spells). It will later come back and if the house (the person) is empty (Christ is not living there) it will occupy the house again and bring with it other demons (multiple possessions). Stay away from demonic games etc. by playing these you are opening a gateway into your soul and demons can influence people to do things. As for your friend and her pastor. Tell her that a Christian should ask questions. That is how we learn and become stronger in our faith. It is the job of a pastor to take care of his flock (people). I believe that the problems Christians, especially teens, have today is due to the churches not addressing these issues. If her pastor had asked her to leave because of the questions, then she really should find another Bible-Based Church.
  3. I know you don't know me, and I'm new to the forum. But may I make some suggestions? The other members are right to say that your grandson is of the age and wants his own privacy. Especially, the teenage years. Teens are all about having some privacy. I suggest that you set clear rules (boundaries) for his mom and siblings when come over to visit. #1 rule: This is your house and your rules. If Shane's mom is going to come over and visit she needs to respect them. #2- Shane's room is off limits to everyone but him. Set some toys aside in the house so that when the kids come over they can play with them. When Shane outgrows toys they can go in the pile for them to play with. Also, tell Shane that the 1/2 siblings are still his siblings and that he should spend some time with them. Maybe have him play with them for 1/2 hr. to 1hr. and then the rest of the time is his to go and do what he wants. Just some suggestions, hope they help.
  4. convited- means having a firm belief led- means past tense of lead The Lion- is the symbol of Judah or God The bible refers to people as sheep- because people are like sheep. As sheep follow one another, so do people. Almost stupid in nature.
