Is there a way for parents to 'Opt out' of this instruction?? There would be absolutely NO way I would allow my children to be exposed to this!!

Reading into this it seems this is a project in Great Britain.

Every locally agreed syllabus must reflect

that the religious traditions of Great Britain are in the main Christian whilst taking account of the teaching and practices of the other principal religions represented in Great Britain.

This seems mainly to apply to religious schools in England. It seems to be an "inclusion" based approach to education intended to promote harmony in individual communities taking in to account or structured around their religious and social/cultural demographics.

Actually there was something about this and even showed class sessions from different schools for KS3 and KS4 about a month ago on teachers tv channel on freesat but not on freeview. The surprise though about the program was that the students expressed views that were christian.

Blessings

What are the parents there doing about it? Are they aware of it even?

Some of those things are already taught in America's public schools (I am not sure if parents are up to date what is going on though). There is even a book (with drawings) that goes into kindergarten through high school senior year that is so sexually explicit it was banned in prisons! It is also homosexual etc in its content.

The parents are not allowed to be told when their child would be taught it either. One father who was objecting and telling the school he wanted to be t old ahead of time because he did not want his child to be taught that, was threatened with trespassing for being on school grounds to discuss it with the principal and they refused him.

There was a petition against this book, I do not know what became of the results of it though.

I do know that such things are already in the schools for some time now.

I think if there had been school vouchers that public schools would of had to compete with private and do what parents wanted instead of what they are doing now.

In our school system, parents are informed at the beginning of the school year of the curriculum. Any sex-ed information is outlined in a week by week curriculum and you have to initial any single item for which you wish your child to be excluded, sign and return the form... I have many friends who teach in this system and while this makes a LOT of work for administrative staff - it is the way it's done. My children are out of the system now and I recently glanced over the material that is taught now. I never opted out for any information when my kids were in school here - and I really didn't think that the current material being covered here was objectionable - However, I taught my children the 'precious details'.. prior to the school attempting to. I did know families who chose a 'no' option to all the information.

Well, it is good that a parent can still opt out there and have some prior notice. The time of that seems long gone here. They used to have it some what, long ago now.

If a parent chooses public school, parents can volunteer and be involved at school and have more of an idea of what is going on or when, or private or other kinds of schools, too.

Some of the basic U.K. stuff (I think) on which all this has been extrapolated or built on.=====>

http://www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/pdf/PH012Guidance.pdf

http://partner.ncb.org.uk/Page.asp?originx...p_200610203221g

===>Have a look around some of their other pages.

C.I. etc. It smacks at porn'ish minds in the heart of the men?? who dreamed up additions to the original proposals for changes to create a 'better' holistically educated nation; who's ed. systems are never the best, what ever their basis Christian or other wise.

. But the additions by those who have had the time & mind to add; what they want to have some control over; to the original proposals, surely don't have young children or grand children ??

Awakening the primal needs of a human at those earlier ages is making; what might seem to be their innocence, the place for weaknesses to be manipulated by Satan. I've never forgotten one of our leader saying, in the past, Satan definitely has children in his sights & they are one of his main targets ( Families being another) We only have to look around our neighbourhoods don't we, let alone the rest of the world.
