Grace to you,

Bless you beloved of God. I'm going to copy an encouragment from one of the Ministers at my Church.

Barbara and her husband lead "Embrace" a ministry to one of the local Nursing Homes.

I hope you find this encouraging and remember how blessed you really are today;

Shelly is one of the people who live at the Nursing home

. This is just a guess but I believe she is in her early fifties. She has lived there several years. She has lymphedema, her legs are 3-4 times larger than they should be. She is confined to bed and has been for the last few years.

Can you imagine being in bed and not getting out to go any place for 2 years? She can't come to our service on Thursday evening so we take it to her.

She shows us the pictures she draws and colors. They look like something a child would draw. She shows such excitement as she tells us what the pictures represent.

She gave me a picture of a rock.It represents Peter, who Jesus told"on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it".I have it on my refrigerator.

About a month ago, we gave her a box of 64 crayons. We thought it would give her more variety to choose from. Two weeks ago when we walked into her room. She held up the box of crayons and smiled. If you could have seen her joy over a box of crayons.

There she is laying in bed, can't go any place, yet so full of joy. That just blessed me so much.

She is really sensitive to the Holy Spirit. We sing to her and she goes right to sleep. We know she is in the presence of Jesus and He is touching her.

Last night, she was sleeping when we went to her room. She fell asleep while she was coloring. A purple crayon was still in her hand and the picture she drew was on her lap. We could tell what was on her heart. It was a picture of the cross with a crown of thorns above it.

I have to ask myself these questions:

If I was in her place, could I have such joy and peace?

IF I was in her place ,could I be happy with a box of crayons?

If I was in her place, could I be content to stay in bed every hour, every day?

If I was in her place, could I draw a picture of the cross?

I believe we take so many things for granted.I know one thing for sure, Shelly loves Jesus and I know He is the reason she can do all the things I just listed above.I have learned many valuable lessons from this lovely lady.

I am truly grateful for meeting Shelly. She is an blessing to me and the Embrace Team.

Blessings,

Barbara

Be blessed beloved, be determined to be blessed!

Peace,

Dave

All so true. I have found that when I had the least, I trusted the most.
