Looks like my post in the other thread came too late to stop the bloodshed.

With all the dozens of battles recorded in the Qur'an PLUS all the post-Medina rantings of one, Muhammad of Yathrib, thru the Qur'an, how is it that some kind folk perceive Islam to be a peaceful philosophy? Are not practically ALL terrorist activity today worldwide (from Darfur massacres to Palestinian homicide-bombers) the very special practice of those who claim holy allegiance to the 17th-century ex-camel-herder of the Arabian peninsula? Or might these modern terrorists be Buddhists, Hindus, Jewish folk, or even Christians? But isn't "Allahu Akbar!" essentially the cry of Muslims? Ask Muhammad Atta!

Muhammad: man of violence. Jesus Christ: Man of peace.

Okay, before you all decide to go out and start another crusade.....

Mohamed was the leader of a people during a time of war. If the Old Testament were written during such a time, the only scriptures available would be some of the more horrible ones- slaying pregnant women by cutting open their bellies and driving a sword through the unborn in sight of the dying mother sort of stuff.

Yet the Quran manages to be merciful and non-judgmental toward just about everybody that isn't actively attacking them.

HISTORY TIME!! YAY!!

The country that is now known as Saudi Arabia was once much like Afghanistan, war lords of different factions grubbing for real estate and command over water sources. Of course, this state of affairs wasn't based on the Quran because, in Mohamed's time, this is not how things were. It is more a comment on the recent Middle East and its ecological state of affairs.

This guy decided to make the whole place one country under his rule. He was of the House of Saud. He sought out an army of people who's faith was unparalleled and impossible to disagree with spiritually. The most fundamentally religious he could find were the Wahhabi sect. These guys were total lunatics as far as Islam was concerned, but they were great fighters, and above religious reproach, which was important.

With the help of these characters, they conquered Saudi Arabia, which meant that the country of Arabia literally was owned by the Saudi family- the House of Saud.

They needed water, and who was better at finding water than the Americans? No one. So they asked for our assistance. Trouble was, every time we drilled, we found oil. Interestingly, no one was better at drilling oil than the Americans either! So a company was formed- Aramco. The Arab-American Oil Company. From that, western ideas became prevalent among the Saud family, and the ruling class. They didn't know what to do with these religious fundamentalists (who were REALLY against such a friendship with the West) so they sent them to Afghanistan, with the help of the Americans, to fight the Soviet Union. What a perfect idea!

One such soldier who went belonged to a very powerful family in Saudi. He had disclaimed his family business in order to pursue his fanatical religious beliefs- good riddance- but, through the CIA and the American military, had learned about high tech weapons (which were provided by the Americans) and tactics (taught by Americans as well).

I supported this and displayed a poster in the back window of my truck that said "Support the Muddjaheen"- the Afghan freedom fighters.

Well, they succeeded against one of the two superpowers on the planet! That was an incredible thing, and it led them to believe that they were invincible.

Later, Saddam invaded Kuwait. The fear was that Saddam might go after Saudi itself. He had the third most powerful military on the planet at the time, and was a secular dictator (something that the Mudjaheen absolutely despised). It is written in the Quran that any country of Muslims should be led by a good Muslim. Saddam even had a WOMAN ON HIS INNER COUNCIL!! There was no end to the hatred this Saudi favored family member turned freedom fighter had than of Saddam Hussein.

This person's name was Ossama bin Laden. His family was wealthy and a favorite of both the Saudi and American governments, and had been entertained by leaders from both, but Ossama himself was one of those unfortunate religious fundamentalists both governments had used to push the Soviets out of Afghanistan. But he came to the rescue. He offered the government of Saudi Arabia the protection of his Mudjajeen against the evil Saddam. The Saudi's didn't share his faith in his abilities and did something that is also against the Quran. They allowed an infidel army to assemble on their land!~ This is a specific violation of the Holy Book.

The Americans called this operation "Desert Shield". Many may not remember what this "Shield" was supposed to be "Shielding", but it was our friend Saudi Arabia. This sent Al Qaeda into a furious rage. Al Qaeda, which means "the camp", went on a bombing spree of Saudi Arabia of such magnitude that they actually influence the opinion of the Sauds when it came time to invade Iraq!

911 was Al Qaeda's answer to Saudi's ignoring them in Desert Shield (and Desert Storm) in favor of an infidel army. The reasons for our invasion of Iraq aren't for this board, but I have lots of evidence on it if anyone is interested in it. That aside- let's get on with the history of Al Qaeda- the Wahhabbi sect of Islam.

We never officially asked the Saudi's if we could stage our attack of Iraq on Saudi soil, because we knew it was a touchy subject for our close ally. Had we been able to do so, the historic march to Baghdad, which led to more deaths of support troops than the actual combat column, could have been avoided. We couldn't possibly protect our support line with such a long march, and it couldn't possibly have been the best invasion imaginable, but it was all we had because, though back doors and secret lines, Saudi had told us that they couldn't allow us to invade from their soil, and just by the way, get the heck out of the bases that we already have there.

In the meantime, the US government was insistent that Saddam had something to do with 911. Suddenly, Ossama's sworn enemy, was his friend. Historically, this was impossible. In every way imaginable, there is no way that this friendship could have been. A secular dictator in leadership of a Muslim nation?? A friend of Islamic fundamentalists?

The people of the world who knew of this history didn't buy it. The people of America, who don't really care about the history of people overseas, bought it hook, line, and sinker.

The only reason people in America like to involve all of Islam in terrorism is because they are gullible. Just imagine for a moment that some world power decides to paint Christianity in such a light just because it wants to achieve some military goal? How would you feel? How would you feel when you ran into one of the citizens of this superpower that has bought into the lie?

Would you explain to them that these are fundamentalists, and that Saddam wasn't a friend of theirs? That he couldn't be? Would you explain the history of the Wahhabbis and Al Qaida, and show that there is no way that Christianity had anything to do with it?

Would they believe you?

Will you believe them?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
