I am not here to spread Masonry but I must state the truth that the last poster wrote Freemasonry is not Christian this is true, it welcomes all faiths, It is not a religion so all faiths are welcomed. Each Freemason is free to believe what he chooses as far as the creation of earth and if satan is real or not, thats your own business. I believe that the creation story in genesis is a good guidline as too what realy took place. I also believe that satan is real and is my enemy. I dont know a whole lot about the scottish or york rites or anything for that matter outside of the first 3 degrees I have been asked to join the york rite, I know one must defend the Christian faith to be part of this order. It stands against Christianity as it incorporates Abaddon as a deity, which is Satan himself. It has its roots in Satanism and it is all neatly wrapped u in a tidy Christian or ecumenical bow, but it is rotten to the core and will cause a man or woman (Eastern Star) who follows Christ to be compromised and confused, and will be dismayed when they stand before God to answer the charge of idolatry and disobedience. Do the right thing and stay away from it. Taking oaths and what are actual blood oaths is forbidden by God, as is many other aspects of Masonry that a Christian man or woman can be duped into doing unwittingly. We are called to be alert to the enemy. Proverbs 4:7 Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. One poster said they dont believe in satan and another says they worship satan. I suggest doing unbias research.

They contribute 2 million dollars a day to charity; 2 million times 365 = 730000000 That's 730 Million dollars a year. Peace, Dave It shocked me as well. In the US alone in 1990 the total donations to charitable causes by Freemasons was 360 million. This includes things like: Public Hospitals and Clinics Medical research Masonic Homes and Orphanages Scholarships, Youth, & Museums Community Support Remember they are responsible for things like the Shriners hospitals. I have a link to one of their information pages I will not post due to the TOS. They quote a figure of 2.6 million a day in the US alone The list of charities is staggering. It is easy to see how they could get to that number. At Shriners hospitals (there are 22 in the US alone) services are free of charge for children up to 18 with burns, orthopedic conditions, etc. They also commit a staggering amount of volunter hours to things like their VA hospital visitation program (whose goal is to have at least one volunteer at every VA hospital in the US help families. So while being unsure of many of their secretive practices, no one can deny their benevolence

The difficulty in getting exact numbers is that many of their charities do not carry the name of Free Masonry. I looked at Forbes.com for a list of leading charities. The Shriners alone takes in 43 million a year and out of that 43 million 87 percent actually goes directly to people. They are also active behind the scenes in things like Special Olympics

Even at the Masonic initiation with your blindfold, noose around your neck, ---when asked: "Who comes here?" The man's name was then stated followed by the statement "who has been in darkness and now seeks to be brought to the light." If at the time you "were" born again in Jesus Christ, you have now just denied Him by calling out on "another light, namely Lucifer, the (false) angel of light.
