Speaking of Batman -

The Joker is a good antagonist. Unfortunately, you have to know something about the comics to fully appreciate just how good of a villain he is.

hmm, i would suppose so, but where do ya think i could get a hold of a copy?...summer is coming up, and i'll have plenty of time.

and yes, i would agree with you.

Other than a comic book store, I wouldn't know.

hmmm....

I like antagonists who are just so caught up in their own 'evilness' they are unable to see what total nincompoops they are:

Cruella Deville -101 Dalmations

Boris & Natasha - Boris Badenov is a fictional character in the 1960s animated cartoons Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show, collectively referred to as Rocky and Bullwinkle for short. He is voiced by Paul Frees.

Snidely Whiplash - Snidely Whiplash is the cartoon archvillain to Dudley Do-Right in the tongue-in-cheek Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties segments of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show by American animation pioneer Jay Ward.

I would add the following:

1. Screwtape from the Screwtape Letters

2. Bill Sykes from Oliver Twist

3. Weston from the Space Trilogy

Khan from Star Trek 2

Very good! One of my favorites as well. Especially when he quotes Milton.

I cant't believe yo all overlooked the most lovable antagonists, Bugs Bunny and Foghorn Leghorn, not to mention Woody Woodpecker, Wiley Coyote and Sylvester. Also, as evil antagonists, Lex Luthor, Q, Doomsday and Rick Flair.
