re: Is wasting Time a Sin?

This past Sunday I watched and listened to Charles Stanley on t.v.

His message was on the word TIME.

Stanley said, "If you waste TIME you are sinning!

So what do allof you say about this question?

The Bible does warn against being lazy, so laziness is wrong. However I believe God does want us to rest and relax, He rested after He created the world. Now if we are always wasting time and not doing the things of God or putting Him first in our life, then it becomes a sin. That is just my opinion.

You dont have an opinion. The bible IS your opinion.

Do you have nothing better to do then berade Christians for the one thing you lack? Faith... Why are you here? What is your purpose in Posting on these boards? Are you seeking the truth or just here to start conflict?

I think maybe you should spend a little more time reading and alot less typing. And that my friend is MY opinion.

God Bless,

Dave

Laziness and taking time to relax are two different things. God created everything in six days and on the seventh He did what? Yep, rested. Now if your looking for an excuse (which I am sure you are not... :t2: ) to be a lazy bum and not work (career, housework, child-care whatever) then yes, probably a sin. Idle hands are the devils workshop are they not? BTW, is that in the bible or some slogan someone came up with?

Define wasting time? Sitting back to smell the roses and enjoy yourself, is that wasting time? I don't think so.

Well if you are wasting time, and not doing what God wants you to do, as a person, and a believer, and an individual then yes, that means you are not serving God, but if you are doing what you feel is right, and is in fellowship with God, then you are doing what you are supposed to do.
