Guest Posted June 22, 2002 Share Posted June 22, 2002 TRIPS TO THE TOMB By BlindSeeker In order to make sense of the differences in the four Gospels' account of the resurrection it helps to realize that there must have been multiple trips to the tomb. The best way to determine the possible order of these trips to the tomb is to consider the details that are given about the time of day and light of the sun. Was the sun going down or coming up? These questions are actually quite easy to answer. Matthew tells us that when the two Marys were headed to the tomb it was "in the end of the Sabbath." Now we must remember that the Sabbath, like all the other days, began and ended with sundown, (see Gen. 1:5, 8,13,19,23,31 and Lev. 23:32.) While I had reached these conclusions after personal study some thirteen years ago, I waited about five years before I wrote my article, some eight years ago. Â In that book, one of his interviews with a Bible scholar covers this topic. Â It is an excellent resource that shows there are NO contradictions in Scripture. Â Isn't our God great?
