Feel free to destroy, correct, or expand on any of these. What is the essence of the Church? "My thesis" The Church is a missionary community created by the Triune God, redeemed and devoted to Christ, and each other as one body, that is and is in the very presence of God the Father, and the Son through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. What is the purpose of the Church? This one I'm having trouble narrowing down one thesis statement. The purpose of the church is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love each other as He loves us, to participatie in Gods redemptive reign, as we carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ. The purpose of the church is to be reconciled to a right relationship with God and eachother to participate fully in Gods redemptive reign through the power of His love.
