Guest Posted May 1, 2011 Share Posted May 1, 2011 That story is a prime example of what I call a "knee-jerk over-reaction" by the school administration. There are other examples of over-the-top discipline issues in other school systems, too, so this is not the only place this stuff is going on. The kid screwed up . . . just like many teens do, but he should not have to pay for that by being blocked from college. (Unless there is some other reason the kid the article can't get into college, like bad grades or something.) There's no common sense any more.
