And while they were all denying it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You." 46 But Jesus said, "Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me." 47 When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why * she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well ; go in peace." This word for "fringe", Kraspedon, is also defined as: the extremity or prominent part of a thing, edge, skirt, margin - the fringe of a garment - in the NT a little appendage hanging down from the edge of the mantle or cloak, made of twisted wool - a tassel, tuft: the Jews had such appendages attached to their mantles to remind them of the law Now compare: Mal. 4:2 "But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings...." The Hebrew word for "wings" is kanaph. It's meanings are: wing, extremity, edge, winged, border, corner, shirt - wing - extremity ---skirt, corner (of garment) Notice the similarity? It could be argued Mal. 4:2 is saying the Messiah will have healing in the fringes of His garment - thus the reason the woman actually considered such a bold move! By grabbing the "fringe" if Jesus' garment, she was declaring faith in Him as Messiah and having "healing in his wings". Neat, huh?

Yeshua would have worn them as would have all the apostles, priests, all who walked in God's instructions. Its also widely popular today to wear them. I am always brought back to the verse that says at that toward the end of the age people will grap ahold of the tzitzits of the 'Jews' to learn of His truth. Our Jewish brothers and sisters don't wear them much but some are starting to wear them again, most rabbis or men do not wear their prayer shawl that has the fringes apart from praying or when in temple. Neat post Neb! so many read that story and wonder about it. shalom, Mizz
