Luke, Chapter 10

25: And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26: He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27: And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28: And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

An expert in Torah stood up to try and trap him by asking, "Rabbi, what should I do to obtain eternal life?" 26 But Yeshua said to him, "What is written in the Torah? How do you read it?" 27 He answered, "You are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your understanding; and your neighbor as yourself." 28 "That's the right answer," Yeshua said. "Do this, and you will have life." 29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Yeshua, "And who is my `neighbor'?"

36 Of these three, which one seems to you to have become the `neighbor' of the man who fell among robbers?" 37 He answered, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Yeshua said to him, "You go and do as he did."

Yeshua is showing him that if you honestly have love in your heart, the love and will of the God everyone is your neighbor. If we truly have Him dwelling within we would have stopped and helped the man because we have the love of Messiah within. The rabbi was also quoting from the Tanakh, but in the parable Yeshua showed it was not the letter of His instruction but the intent of them is to teach us how to love. Just as Messiah has shown mercy to us we should show the same to all, if He can extend His grace over us should we not also do the same to others? He leads us still by His examples of mercy, grace, love, compassion. Salvation is free when we accept His freely given gift to us.

shalom,

Mizz

Do you love thy Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind?

If not, I would like to know how close you are to getting there.

Let me ask you the same thing, are you a believer in the one True God and the Son He sent to take the penalty of death upon Himself at the cross and reconcile us back to Himself? Do you believe in God, the Messiah, do you confess His name?

I do love YHWH, His Son Yeshua and I try with my whole being to do as He wishes, to serve Him as He calls me. My heart is the seat of my will, in hebraic thought the heart is the seat of ones will and thought and we are to align ours with the Fathers.

" Let me ask you the same thing"

How is what you asked me the same as I asked you?

I am a believer in the one True God and the Son He sent to redeem and save His people from their sins and full fill the Will of God His Father and the Scriptures of Truth by His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave.

"Do you believe in God, the Messiah, do you confess His name?"

More than ye do.

"I do love YHWH, His Son Yeshua and I try with my whole being to do as He wishes, to serve Him as He calls me. My heart is the seat of my will, in hebraic thought the heart is the seat of ones will and thought and we are to align ours with the Fathers."

Do you believe he will accept your effort an love for him?

More than ye do.

Oh ok so you love Him more than I or anyone else, I get it. Please lets not play that or any other game.

Do you not believe that God accepts our love? Does a father not accept his child's love even when the disobey? doesn't a father love a child who comes to him and tells him of their wrongs and repents of those wrongs? Yes I certainly do think that God accepts the love I have for Him, just as He accepted me as the sinner I was and am. Teshuvah is more than just saying 'I'm sorry', trying to make a few changes, and then goes back and keeps doing the same thing again and again expecting that we will not be chastized for our behavior, teshuvah is returning to Him, running back to the arms of the Father.

Are you angry with me?

Did I do any wrong to you?

The burden of proof is upon the accuser.

I have not accused you of anything.

If you do not want to answer my questions

then please do not say things to me

that will provoke me to ask you questions concerning what you said to me.

Thank you.

You seem to be responding to something non-existant, I have not accused nor asked anything accusatory I was responding to your thoughts and questions. What burden of proof is it that you think is needed? You posted about Luke 10, ask if this is the complete law of salvation and now its done to I am somehow accusing you of something. :noidea: You ask about obstacles to overcome yet I am somehow I am doing something to you instead of trying to dialogue with you. You ask me me this, "I would like to know how close you are to getting there" yet somehow now I have some kind of burden to prove something to you. Take a breath please and reread the thread and then try and show me where I accused you of anything. If you are here to play games, it won't last long, if you are here to create division it will not last long.

Try again, try asking what it is you came here to ask. If you ask a guestion such as this "Do you believe he will accept your effort an love for him?" and I answer I am suddenly accusing you of something. On an open forum expect people to answer back, if that is not your purpose here then why are you here?

shalom,

Mizzdy

thenjduke, what is your purpose here? Do you desire communication in the form of a discussion or is the form of you being the teacher and we your students? I'd like to get your answer on this before I go any further with you.

In Him,

Alan

Hello stranger! How is it that you can judge this?

Hello stranger! How is it that you can judge this?

Seems its easier to judge than engage in a discussion.
