We don't need another instance like that which happened in 1991/1992 when Saddam used bioweapons on the Kurds while the Bush 41 administration turned a blind eye and did nothing. While I'm against further U.S. involvement in the muslim countries' neverending wars, the use of chemical weapons is simply unacceptable.

Like those WMD's in Iraq.

Period. Chemical weapons or no. "Don't let anybody make you think that God chose America as His divine messianic force to be a sort of policeman of the whole world. God has a way of standing before the nations with justice and it seems that I can hear God saying to America, 'You are too arrogant. If you don't change your ways I will rise up and break the back bone of your power.'" - Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. (circa 1967) "The US government is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today." - Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1966 "A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death." - Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Syrian issue is a Muslim issue, a basic area war between Shia and Sunni sects of Islam. Because the United States is hooked on Saudi oil, we've got to back their play. The 'play', as it were, is to reduce Syria and Iran to Sunni puppet states. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been trying to bury the Shia ascendency in the Middle East with money and blood. If America follows the Saudi lead into a ground war with Iran, a major defeat could be on the horizon. The Russian Medvedev doctrine would kick in and the United States could face a debacle to make the Chosin Reservior incident look like a dress rehearsal. It could be America's Stalingrad. It's not too late for our leaders to begin serious work on making the United States energy independent. As of this writing, America is a puppet of middle eastern war lords. If we want to continue to buy cheap oil, we have to do their dirty work for them. The days of Pax Americana are over. The dream has turned into a nightmare and its time to wake up and smell the coffee. We are not the world's policeman and we are not the Arabs hit man either. but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...
