My favorite is the 1984 version with George C. Scott as Scrooge. I think anything George C. Scott touched turned to gold. The 2009 movie with Jim Carey isa close second.

I don't recall the names of the actors playing Scrooge - except for Patrick Stewart (but that wasn't my favorite).

I chose Mickey's just because it was so clever and funny.

Another one I liked was the cartoon version staring Mr. McGoo.

Personally I like A Christmas Carol (with George C. Scott).

However, Muppet Christmas Carol is good too.

:)

I prefer the one with Patrick Stewart myself. I thought he made an excellent scrooge.

My favorite is the 1970 version with Albert Finney. :) I love the songs! What also makes this one stand out is the uncut version actually shows Scrooge in hell. :emot-eek:

Go to YouTube and type in: Scrooge the Musical (1970) Part 9. The scene starts around the six minute mark. It concludes in Part 10.

I was thinking about that movie this morning. What I find amazing is whenever they broadcast this version on television, they always cut out the part where Scrooge goes to hell. With all the violence and sex they show on TV these days, TV executives still feel it necessary to not show the eternal consequences of Ebeneezer's sins.

Or that they can show commercials for violent video games targeted to kids, but when they broadcast old cartoons, they won't show the Roadrunner hitting the bottom of a canyon.

:noidea:

I think you mean coyote?

And they never showed him hitting the bottom, beyond the puff of smoke.

Oops! Yes, coyote!

Well, these days, you don't even see the puff of smoke.
