Thank you all so much for helping to try to figure out all those problems,I was just about to roll back to Jan3 2011 before I seen that the video card is back.. Then step back to post #103 and return to install from the NVIDIA company. If all that is showing up for video drives in her device manager is VGA, there is the issue, the video driver is not installed. As for the sound, check the device manager to see what sound drivers are installed. I deleted the temp files and when I restarted I noticed the nvdia was back.. Here are the instructions again: Start>type cmd in the search box and right click on the cmd icon and select Run As Administrator type in chkdsk /r (remember that there is a space between the k and /) and hit enter When you get the message that the volume is locked/in use by another program, etc and asking if you want to run it at start up, type y (for yes) and hit enter type exit and hit enter Reboot the machine and let it run. Once we get past this point...any problems that might be left can be addressed. Chkdsk will recover/repair corrupt data & bad sectors on the HDD that might be causing some of these other issues.
