So as the title states what do you do when the sin(s) that beset you knock at the door?

Just wondering as by God grace until tonight God gave me some victory over this sin, but I fail misery tonight!

But I know I forgiven by the Grace of Christ, just tired of night like tonight.

Hi,

This is something I think most if not all Christians can relate to. All I know to do is share some things I had to learn the hard way in this very area. Some may apply to you, and some may not. But, I hope this somehow helps. In no certain order....

1st. Remember to keep your eyes on Christ. Often times we take our eyes off of him and look at the sin. We see our weakness and not the fullness of God in Jesus Christ. If your looking at the sin, your not looking at Jesus.  Remember the story of Joshua and Caleb. The other spies couldn't get past the giants, while Joshua and Caleb kept there eyes on God. Knowing there is nothing God can't do.

2nd. As you keep your eyes on Jesus remember why you came to faith in him to start with. What do I mean??? I mean simply this, If you could defeat sin on your own, then why bother to get saved in the first place? If you can defeat sin, what do you need Jesus for? You must remember the battle is the Lord's, and not yours. You need Jesus to defeat this sin, you never will be able to defeat sin on your own.

3rd. When the temptation strikes you, That's when you need to Pray, read your bible, Sing songs and hymns to the Lord. One of the tricks of the enemy is that when the temptation strikes, he will also hit us with guilt, like it's our fault we are dealing with temptation. So we try to resist on our own, and fail. We feel guilty about even being tempted in the first place so, we don't go directly to Jesus. But that's exactly what you need to do. When temptation strikes, flee straight to the Lord Jesus. Pray, read the bible, and sing him songs and hymns. He is our strength, the victory is in the power of his might, not yours.

Let the enemy know through your actions, that it don't matter when or how often he hits you with temptation, the result will be the same. The temptation will drive you straight to Jesus. All have fallen short of the glory of God. If we confess our sin, he will forgive us. Your victory is in Jesus. Keep the eyes of your heart on Him.

Get up, repent, and go on with new resolve in Jesus Christ.

Yes,desi that is right. You need to change your ways to God's ways. You can not continue to commit the same sin over and over again.Because then you are mocking God.

From my own experience, and what the Bible teachers. As we focus on God, in our own journey our desires will be changing as well, yes we will mess up but like someone said, changing the perception of it will make you see it differently. I know it's easier said than done, but it works

Focus your attention on the light that is inside you. This is what I have done, and it helps a lot.

You don't answer the door.
