Guest man
I believe lying or deceiving for personal gain is wrong. However, I wouldn't balk at the idea of lying or deceiving for the benefit of another's health or safety. Do you have New Testament support for that? It's a personal conviction. So are you saying you have personal convictions non Biblically based? If the story of Rahab is a work of fiction, then yes, I have non biblically based personal convictions. In a way, you are asking the wrong question. (Not saying that you are, but) it comes across as if someone is looking for an excuse to lie/deceive. (Or any given reader could.) But we keep forgetting that there are two key rules we are to live by: love God and love our neighbor. So the question ought to be worded: Is it loving to intentionally deceive someone? If "you" are to look at a suitable situation, instead of sweating over it being right or wrong, ask instead what the loving thing to do would be.
