One of the Apollo missions was going to be passing directly over the island at night. They put some logs together that spelled out SOS and set them on fire so the astronauts could see them. Gilligan's pants caught fire and he started tripping over the logs. From outer space the logs ended up spelling out SOL. The astronauts thought it was a greeting from the natives living on the island. That sounds really funny...Too bad I missed that episode...
