In fact,  in Italian the words do change or they would not have fitted the music. 

Having said that, it was on the Album , "Sogno" which only sold 2.5 million copies in America and over 10 million world wide.  

 

Oh, and for the record so to speak,    I don't think Bocelli should be allowed to sing opera but I'm an opera snob.

There are quite a few renditions of this song out there. Donnie McClurkin & Yolanda Adams by far have some of the richest voices I've heard.

The Italian is beautiful however.

Andrea Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli (I believe they're the original singers that made the song known in 1999 as it was released as a single. Andrea Bocelli is blind by the way. )
