Can you say what was the "promise" made to Jesus, Adam, Abraham, the children of Israel? [Just askin'

His Word.

Look all the way back in history and in the future and its centered on His Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh.

Luke21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.:

Much more than that, my friend. Everything God gave was in promise form. What were the promises made either specifically or indirectly to each and for which they had to be proven before the fulfillment could be achieved.? It is a history lesson with practical application for us who are born again.

You've kinda lost me here by saying much more than the promise of Jesus?

Jesus was sent by God as God through God's mercy and grace to demostrate God's love toward us for eternal life. You're asking for me to prove something other than even Christ saying believe me?

Please tell me the promises made either spicifically or indirectly to each of us before we are proven?

Jesus learned obedience!. Why not ask yourself, why?? What was that all about and why would you assume He would not be tempted to prove Him if you understood it? Remember Adam? What was he promised? Why was he tempted __ to be proven BEFORE the fulfillment of the promise could be realized?

Yes, He learned it: "Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered." Hebrews 5:8 (ESV)

Now, please comment on the rest of my post with that in mind.

I just discovered this thread. I have not read this thread. I do not have time to read this thread. With that understaniding, also me this:

I read part of the first page and it seemed as though the focus was on the idea that Jesus was tempted, as in He might have thought: "Gee, some bread would be good right now, and I am hungry, it sure is tempting to turn a few rocks into a few loaves."

I think that somewhat changes the meaning of the word temp in context and mostly in Greek, where the concept does not seem so much to be resisting a feeling, it seems to be, that the word "tested" would be a better translation that the word "tempted" is in modern English. If this was already said, I apologize, but see if that thought alters your perseption of the verse and it's implications at all.

For references, here is Thayer's Lexicon on the word in question:
