So is all of this in Heaven above or Israel on earth, remember they are all working in the same place.I know some believe the war in heaven is above, if so the pregnant woman was there to. He tried to kill the new King. At the time yes. The dragon's breath of fury is felt by all Christians at some time. He works through the unconverted and the irreverent, and seeks to use the powers in human societies to bring about his plans. Herod was his man at the time. Not just Herod, but all those like him, and all those who knowingly voted him in.The dragon is mentioned in the Old Testament in association with Egypt, and Pharaoh's sneer -."Who is the Lord that I should acknowledge him?" Behind nearly all the religious and political powers in the world is the intent to remove worship from Christ altogether, and replace it with the systems of men. This is a broad view, one that the angels of God work with.The last couple of chapters in Daniel, describe the machinations of the devil in the world over a period of two and a half thousand years, and these descriptions are all spoken directly by an angel of God - the longest recorded discourse of an angel's speech in the Bible. Complex stuff.But in this 12th chapter of Rev, the words are simple - so that a child can understand - such as Mary and the Child etc, and the opposition of the dragon - Herod killing the babies. And yet these simple images are profound in order to galvanize greater issues, on a larger scale - i,e. globally - both historically and spiritually. The great warfare between good and evil.
