If it is proven that several soldiers died trying to find him, additional punishment will be added to the conviction if he is found guilty. But can Obama step in? He is the Commander in Chief, is he not?

My personal opinion, Bergdahl served his purpose, the President was able to use him to justify the release of 5 highly ranked terrorists from Guantanamo Bay, and the President has no further interest in him. He will not pressure the military to drop the charges.
