Hypothetical situation:

You are in a space suit, floating half way between Earth and Mars.

Which direction is up?

Which direction is north? :noidea:

Well, if we define "up" by the opposite direction of the greatest pull of gravity, then I am guessing "up" would be away from the sun.

Well, if north is determined by the electromagnetic field, then unless you were under the influence of such a field would there be a north.

I think I'm going to ask this on the astronomy board!

What I wanna know is ....... "Who's on first .....?"

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Exactly.

1) Murphy's Law states, and I quote, "A piece of toast, when dropped, will always fall butter-side down."

2) A cat, when tossed into the air will, barring any obstructions, always land upon its feet.

3) Therefore, it stands to reason that if one were to affix a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat and tossed it into the air, anti-gravity would be acheived.

That all depends on which side the toast is buttered.
