A man said once that if a man wants to marry a woman ,he must first get her fathers blessing/permission first before proceeding. If he doesn't get it or the father says no, and gets married he can bring negative spiritual effects on the marriage. Is it a biblical principle or a man made practice which while respectful not biblically mandated

Today, so few follow God's Instructions, this one thing by itself probably wouldn't/won't make a big difference in their life, and is ((usually? probably?)) only practiced by the ones faithful to God's Word ((maybe also in some other peoples/nations))..... Can you provide the scripture that supports this brother ?

Is it a biblical principle or a man made practice which while respectful not biblically mandated Well of course I would think in our day and time it would depend on the age of the girl the man wanted to get permission to marry. If the girl is to young by the laws of the state it is going to be hard for any man to get the parents blessings or their permission for them to get married. But if the girl is of age and the couple wants to get married it doesn't matter if the parents agree with whom your in love with and their permission and blessings aren't necessary. Of course it it always nice if you have agreement and acceptance of the marriage by your parents. But even if the two of them don't ever get the acceptance of their parents it will not stop the blessings of God within that marriage as no man can stop God Blessings on what he blessings. It is not a biblical principle we have to follow today and will not bring any negative spiritual effects on the marriage. What God has put together let no man put asunder. Marriage is the will of God as it is better to marry than to burn, and to prevent fornication from taking place. The father's blessings in the OT was relating to something different mainly the inheritance of the elder brother to inherit his father's blessings or goods after their father died but it also included the spiritual blessings of God.
