Agreed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so is this where the Arian Race Bros"SkinHeads"stemmed from? I think it safe to say they are a cult on the whole,,,,they are a typical "hate" group that hates anyone who does not/or is not what they are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this is still live & breeding in the South,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

No.  Aryan is spelled different, but yes, they are a racial cult versus a religious cult.  They do have some psuedo religious connections/connotations that may be worth looking into.  The KKK were/are anti-Black, anti-Jew and anti-Catholic, if I remember correctly.  I think the KKK were mostly if not entirely made up of White Protestants.  How they became connected to neo-NAZI's I'm not exactly sure.  The message of hate comes through loud and clear though.  Beware of secret societies.

On the other hand, Arianism gave rise in more recent times to Jehovah Witnesses and Mormans.  Denying the divinity of Jesus Christ automatically excludes them from the Christian fold, imho.  There are other modern "denominations" who deny the divinity of Jesus.  I hope we can get into them later.  Also, this is not connected to Arminianism.  It's been awhile since I looked at Arminianism.

Church of Christ, Scientist

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Church of Christ, Scientist was founded in 1879 in Boston, Massachusetts, by Mary Baker Eddy, author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and founder of Christian Science. The church was founded "to commemorate the word and works of [Christ Jesus]" and "reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing". Sunday services are held throughout the year and weekly testimony meetings are held on Wednesday evenings, where following brief readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, those in attendance are invited to give testimonies of healing brought about through Christian Science prayer.

In the early decades of the 20th century, Christian Science churches sprang up in communities around the world, though in the last several decades of that century, there was a marked decline in membership, except in Africa, where there has been growth. Several controversies have rocked the church and remain unresolved, according to dissidents. Headquartered in Boston, the church has a worldwide membership of about 85,000.[1]

History

The church was incorporated by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879 following a claimed personal healing in 1866, which she said resulted from reading the Bible.[2] The Bible and Eddy's textbook on Christian healing, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, are together the church's key doctrinal sources and have been ordained as the church's "dual impersonal pastor".[3]

The First Church of Christ, Scientist, is widely known for its publications, especially The Christian Science Monitor, a weekly newspaper published internationally in print and online. The seal of Christian Science is a cross and crown with the words, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons," and is a registered trademark of the church.

Beliefs and Practices

The Church has collected over 50,000 testimonies of incidents that it considers healing through Christian Science treatment alone. While most of these testimonies represent ailments neither diagnosed nor treated by medical professionals, the Church requires three other people to vouch for any testimony published in its official organ, the Christian Science Journal; verifiers say that they witnessed the healing or know the testifier well.[4]

Christian Scientists may take an intensive two-week "Primary" class from an authorized Christian Science teacher.[5] Those who wish to become "Journal-listed" (accredited) practitioners, devoting themselves full-time to the practice of healing, must first have Primary class instruction. When they have what the church regards as a record of healing, they may submit their names for publication in the directory of practitioners and teachers in the Christian Science Journal. A practitioner who has been listed for at least three years' may apply for "Normal" class instruction, given once every three years.[6][7] Those who receive a certificate are authorized to teach.[8] Both Primary and Normal classes are based on the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. The Primary class focuses on the chapter, "Recapitulation" in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. This chapter uses the Socratic method of teaching and contains the "Scientific Statement of Being". The "Normal" class focuses on the platform of Christian Science, contained on pages 330-340 of Science and Health.[9]

So what can we say about Christain Scientists, and by that I mean Church of Christ, Scientist?  Have they added to the Bible and placed an unreasonable burden on others?  Or are they following a more primative form of Christianity?  Didn't Paul tell Timothy to take some wine for his stomach ailment?  Isn't that a form of medicine?  Should they be considered a cult, heretical or just a Protestant denomination?

"God is All-in all." "God is good." [4] "God is Mind, and God is infinite; hence all is Mind."[5] Christian Science develops its theology and its healing method from these simple, yet radical statements. The conclusions are that we are all perfect spiritual ideas of the one divine Mind, and manifest Spirit, not a material body. The five physical senses, which take no account of Spirit, are the origin of all false beliefs. Sickness is just a belief, not a property of matter, and it must be annihilated by the understanding of the divine Mind. Praying from this standpoint removes the belief and brings healing. This proves that this Science is correct, and that one                               Wikapedia

The scientific statement of being

There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual.

I don't see anything, anywhere about Jesus,,,,,,,what you quoted from Wikipedia Encyclopedia is so vague, isn't it?I don't see any primitive form of Christianity ,what I do see is they themselves seem to believe that they are gods,,,,,power of the "mind",,,,,mind over matter, self, self, self

Dangerous, adding & taking away from Gods Word,,,,,I believe this kind of thing can be called a "cult",,,,,,much of "Hollywood" celebs have gone this way & have a very difficult time 'getting out" from what they say in interviews,,,,,,even that is questionable,,,,,I think Illuminati & principalities are behind this false doctrine                                    what do you think?

We can almost relate this to Norman Vincent Peale and the power of positive thinking.  Or in my experience, the power of positive confession.  What's missing is the will of our Father in Heaven, His Son Our Messiah, and the power of the Holy Spirit.  It seems a bit philosophically eastern in thinking.  Their teaching stems from Mary Baker Eddy's interpretation of what the Bible says and they place a great deal of emphasis on their own teaching.  I agree, this certainly has aspects of a cult.

Being a former member of a Word-Faith Church, or as it is sometimes known as "Name It and Claim It", God's will was relegated to lesser position than our own.

Personal Anecdote: My wife and I had a hard time getting pregnant and had many people at our church praying for us and over us.  After a year with a fertility specialist, we stopped and put our faith in God.  We soon got pregnant and everyone at the church was happy for us.  Two months or so into the pregnancy my wife knew there was something wrong.  She was rushed to the ER where it was discovered she had an ectopic pregnancy and her fallopian tube had ruptured.  Needless to say, we lost that baby but my wife's life was saved.  At church we heard about somebody who had a friend who knew someone that carried a baby to term in a fallopian tube.  We also heard that if we had more faith this wouldn't have happened.  Great empathy from our "friends" at church.  We waited a year before we tried getting pregnant again.  Again we saw a fertility specialist, the same one we had before.  Again nothing, and we stopped.  Again, soon after we stopped, we got pregnant.  We only told a few people at church this time.  Again after two months, my wife started spotting.  We went to the ER were it was determined she had a miscarriage.  People at church mostly ignored us now.  We both experienced depression, my wife's much more severe.  We decided then for her sanity, that there would not be a third try.  So we look forward to seeing our two children, raised by Jesus, in Heaven.  Our children were protected in Heaven from the bad genes that both sides of our family could have passed on.  While we wait, we have the Holy Spirit, each other, and many loving dogs.  We're good with that.  God's will be done always! Blessed be His Name.

Blessings to you my sister in Christ,

I bolded a section of what you wrote because it applies so well to my life.  I accepted my death by drowning before I had faith.  But God seeing the past, present and future as now, saved me not on the contingent I have faith in the present.  But I now do have complete faith in Jesus that the trials that I go through, that I am not alone.  I rely upon his Jesus' presence in my life and the Holy Spirit's help to stay on track.  Like you, I never want to get so prideful (or prideful at all) that I steal from God the glory He is due.  God has healed you (thank you Jesus) and God has healed me (praise Jesus).  That doesn't mean we still don't have thorns in the flesh as you so correctly pointed out.  We rely on God (our Father) to meet our daily needs.  The Lord's Prayer is a perfect prayer covering all aspects of our communion with Him.

I too am hesitant to call Word-Faith a cult.  I think there is an overemphasis on spiritual gifts with some claiming spiritual gifts they do not have.  I definitely believe there are some ministers in the movement to stay away from, and I'll leave it there for now.

God bless you Kwik.  We are definitely on the same page, and if you see me straying, yank be back on course.
