Guest shiloh357
Used to be a chat moderator, one of the men, who bragged that he could eat multiple ghost peppers on a salad. Probably not true.

I don't know if they still do or not, bug our local Buffalo wild sings bad a ghost pepper challenge-they have you a batch of their ghost pepper hot wings, and if you could finish them, you ate free that night. Don't know if they still do or not...and most people who tried didn't beat the challenge, but we had a few that did.
Guest BacKaran
My ghost pepper experience. I went to AZ with a friend last Oct. Her fiance took us to a nice restaurant and it was holloween. The burger of the day was a ghost pepper chili burger. Ok, I'm from Mn, I like chili and I get the ghost part cuz it's holloween.... So when the waitress said no one had ordered a burger yet, I said why? Is it red or green chili, she said both. I said can i try the chili first? She brought me a couple of slices and I thought this isn't chili chili but I will try it any way.... A second on the tongue and I swallowed without chewing as the waitress brought out a glass of milk....Oooooohh! GHOST CHILI PEPPER , not chili chili..... I actually loved the taste, it lingered for an hour and the rest of our conversation was enlightening me on the Grim Reaper, the Seven bowl chili pepper, etc.. Now white castle, a burger joint up north, has a great ghost pepper cheese burger that I recommend! ? Edited October 25, 2016 by BacKaran No, I didn't get the ghost burger! Currently about the hottest I would usually eat is habanero. I do actually prefer the taste of habanero Tabasco to the std one which is jalapeno not because its hotter, I just prefer the aftertaste. For reference there is the Scoville scale.. Jalapeno is in the 1,000 - 20,000 range Habanero is in the 100,00 - 350,000 range Bhut jolokia (Ghost) is over 1,000,000 so I think its crazy stuff. On the other hand you can't always trust what the packets say. I found some Scotch Bonnets in the local grocer and they are supposed to be in the 100,000 - 400,ooo range but these were a joke. I mean you could just chew on them like a carrot. I doubt they were much hotter than an ordinary capsicum. There are a range of chilli which are really only intended for use as an ingredient so no person could eat them and be ok. eg - that Carolina Reaper sounds nice at 2.2 M on the scale.
