This time is just to get his staff put together and get his personal matters able to be run without him. He has the right to get daily briefings but he is not under any obligation to get them since he has zero effect on them at this time. A weekly summary is just as good as daily briefings considering that he has zero input on what obama (who is still president) does to handle the situations.
