Australia has the longest fence in the world, some 5600 km and has been there since the early 1900. It use to be about 8000 km, but it is now reduced. On the weather in my neck of the woods [Toronto]. Looking out from my window, it looks great, no snow on the ground at all and the temp is -5 c. I can't recall ever seeing no snow on the ground at this time of the year ever. Usually what happens, is when snow fall it remains on the ground for weeks or months untill the weather warms up enough to melt it. This is strange weather here indeed . It's been a weird year in the US. The moisture has all fallen on the coasts it seems. Where I live we've had some crazy mild weather.

My sister just sent me a picture from her place there with snow half way up the second story windows. They were getting two more storms with a new foot of snow per day, and had temps hovering at 8 degrees F. As for this subtropics dweller, the Florida suncoast is a San Diego like 73 degrees. Winter came and went, but I hibernated through it. Think it was January 13, got kinda cold that night. We called it winter anyway, just so we can say we have four seasons here, something more than hot and hotter, wet and wetter. She said it was still OK to ski, just "crunchy"... I'm clueless to that lol!

Wow, that's not how I envision snow!! More like icy icecream nope cause it's not sticky. When it's very cold it's lightweight (powdery) because the crystals don't pack together. When it's melty it's heavy, closer to the consistency of a slush or ice cream.
