(Worthy News) - UK prime minister Theresa May will have to obtain the consent of parliament before triggering Article 50, the exit procedure from the European Union, the Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday (24 January).

The panel of judges rejected by eight to three the government's argument that it had the power to start the exit procedure based on the result of last year's referendum.

This means May cannot begin talks with her EU counterparts about leaving the bloc until lawmakers give their backing. [ Source ]

This does not make any sense. For a referendum is more basic even than Parliament. That is, MPs are merely representatives of the People, who have already spoken for themselves, directly, in a referendum. ----- But, of course the UK high judges cannot stand any sovereignty on the part of the People themselves. No, the establishment of bigwigs (both literal and figurative) knows better than the People what is best for the People. ----- How condescending can you get! ----- Restore democracy to the UK now! The time of aristocracy is past! ----- And EU tyranny must end! Out with an unaccountable Brussels bureaucracy! And in with the power of the People!

if they don't vote it in, the people will probably vote them out, and it will just take a little longer.

If Bible prophecy is anything to go by (or at least one common interpretation of it, should I say) then Brexit is definitely going to happen!

We have to assume of course that Britain really is the 'Tarshish' as mentioned in the Old Testament.
