I wonder, with todays technology could there be an off switch to render the planes grounded if their uses are abused. You would think something like that would be done. A chip in the programing that has levels of code to be enacted or how ever they do that.

Like selling secure phones through the black market with back doors in them that make them not so secure.

I've no idea about aeronautical programs for fighters. However, I do hope this isn't a decision that backfires. I do hope Boko Haram is dealt with being they are evil in ways we read about far too often. I just have to believe God is with President Trump and President Trump has advisors that would have experience in this matter also so as to best guide him.

they are wanting to close the A-10 Warthog program, maybe they will give them those.   Would be an awesome tool to use on the radicals.

The article says it is the A29. Here's more details from a different reporting source. That looks a little old fashioned?

still good for ground support and much less labor intensive to keep flying.

I could not get my phone to open the article so i didn't see the A29.    That's what we furnished the Afghans and it's a super plane for ground support.   It's not old technology .  It's very stable and the turbo prop engine is efficient on fuel use.   stays in the air for longer periods of time than the A 10's.    It should help.   it's really more effective than our jet fighters (not counting the Wart Hog A 10)   but A-10's are very expensive and hard to maintain.....

Not that you know a lot about fighter aircraft or anything. :P Thank you for those details. I was surprised when I found that article and the picture that a prop plane now days would be a current fighter. Thank you again.

It does have a prop, but a small jet engine drives it.  It also has some pretty mean guns and rockets along with night vision stuff and thermal imaging to fight in bad weather.  And they say it's a real treat to fly.

Thanks for posting this for its really a cool move by the President

Ah, that makes sense then. The prop made me think jet engine wasn't a factor. That's a heavily equipped fighter as you describe it.
Is that true or sarcasm about it being a real treat to fly?

The treat is that the thing handles well and actually fun to fly.  I can't get a pilots license for I am a borderline diabetic, but I do fly with friends.
