Guest Reltih
Is it wrong to kill if you are in a war? Is it wrong to kill if your life is in danger? -BnG-

The word in the Hebrew original favors a translation of "murder."

But killing with no remorse or for pleasure, then that to me is wrong.

Guest Fluffy the Cactus
I think that God is very practical, and I think that He doesn't judge things in a cookie-cutter manner. I truly believe that God does not hold someone accountable if they kill while protecting themselves, and as far as war goes, a soldier just does his/her job. He/She isn't responsible for the war or the killings. Whoever initiated the war, I believe, the Lord holds responsible for that. (Wow, my first serious post in a LONG time) ??? In fact I asked about it here last quite some time ago. I was in the Marines and fought in Desert Storm. I was a machine-gunner, so you can figure out what I did. It is something that is hard to deal with, and you never quit thinking about it. But I do believe that fighting in a war, or self-defense, is quite different in God's eyes than simply murdering someone.
