This half shekel is an offering to the LORD. 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD. (Romans 5:11) How thankful I am that we no longer have to make atonement (or reconciliation) as back in the days of Moses! Notice the atonement price was to be the same value whether one was rich or poor . And the price is the same for us today . But the BLOOD of CHRIST is far greater than that of bulls . And guess what the price is , JESUS PAID IT SISTER . YEAH , its free for us . PUT THOSE hands up and praise the LORD . OH let the whole house sound out praises to the LORD . HE bought and paid for us with HIS OWN BLOOD . PUT those hands up , one and all, put them up and turn this place into a ten story praise fest TO THE LORD . Let the praises be heard the WORLD ROUND and let it be said , THEIR IS NO OTHER NAME whereby we can be saved , AND NONE of us are gonna heed romes inclusive lie . For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat: When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD: So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations." Exodus 30:17-21 The Laver in the New Testament: The Greek word (loutron) occurs twice in the New Testament. In Ephesians 5:26, Paul says that Christ gave Himself for the church "that he might sanctify it having cleansed it by the washing (Greek "laver") of water with the word"; and in Titus 3:5 he says that we are saved "through the washing (Greek "laver") of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." In these passages the reference is to the constant physical purity demanded of the Jewish priests when in attendance upon the temple.
