Atonement Money

11 Then the LORD said to Moses,
12“When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them.
(Exodus 30:11-12)

13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD.

14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD.

(Exodus 30:13-14)

15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives.

16 Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives.”

15 minutes ago, turtletwo said:

making atonement for your lives.”

From Mirriam-Webster

Definition of Atonement

1: reparation for an offense or injury : SATISFACTION story of sin and atonement (For example:He wanted to find a way to make atonement for his sins.)

2: the reconciliation of God and humankind through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ

"And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. (Romans 5:11)

How thankful I am that we no longer have to make atonement (or reconciliation) as back in the days of Moses! Jesus fulfilled that for us :)

Atonement is…

812080038_at-one-mentimage.jpg.a3c0ea80d64425aa51c3215bd70b82ce.jpg

The English word for atonement originally meant “at one-ment” or “at one with” like being in harmony with someone and in this case it means to be at one with God through the atonement that was made possible by the substitutionary death of Christ on our behalf. Praise God! :emot-heartbeat:

Put those hands up my loved swidl and see the beauty of it .    Notice the atonement price was to be the same value whether one was rich or poor .

And the price is the same for us today .   But the BLOOD of CHRIST is far greater than that of bulls .

And guess what the price is ,        JESUS PAID IT SISTER .   YEAH , its free for us .    PUT THOSE hands up and praise the LORD .  OH let the whole house sound out praises to the LORD .

HE bought and paid for us with HIS OWN BLOOD .     PUT those hands up , one and all, put them up and turn this place into a ten story praise fest TO THE LORD .

Let the praises be heard the WORLD ROUND and let it be said , THEIR IS NO OTHER NAME whereby we can be saved , AND NONE of us are gonna heed romes inclusive lie .

NOPE ,  JESUS is the ONLY HOPE , ONLY SAVOIR , ONLY NAME , in fact the NAME above all names .    Allah cant save none , not even himself and nor can budda or any man .

ONLY JESUS CAN .   HANDS up one and all, hands up and PRAISE THE LORD .  WE GONNA HONOR HIM and all other ways are false and lies of men .

PRAISE THE HOLY LORD .  I don't care how tired and sick I feel ,    I GOT ALL HOPE and JUST POINTING TO THE LORD ALONE , REJOICES MY HEART and SOUL .

PRAISE THE LORD , and let the LORD be praised .

The Bronze Basin

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

"Thou shalt also make a laver of brass,

and his foot also of brass,

to wash withal:

and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar,

and thou shalt put water therein.

For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation,

they shall wash with water,

that they die not;

or when they come near to the altar to minister,

to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

So they shall wash their hands and their feet,

that they die not:

and it shall be a statute for ever to them,

even to him and to his seed throughout their generations."

Exodus 30:17-21

The Laver in the New Testament:

The Greek word (loutron) occurs twice in the New Testament. In Ephesians 5:26, Paul says that Christ gave Himself for the church "that he might sanctify it having cleansed it by the washing (Greek "laver") of water with the word"; and in Titus 3:5 he says that we are saved "through the washing (Greek "laver") of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." In these passages the reference is to the constant physical purity demanded of the Jewish priests when in attendance upon the temple. (William Shaw Caldecott)

The Anointing Oil and Incense

Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

"Take thou also unto thee principal spices,

of pure myrrh five hundred shekels,

and of sweet cinnamon half so much,

even two hundred and fifty shekels,

and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

And of cassia five hundred shekels,

after the shekel of the sanctuary,

and of oil olive an hin:

And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment,

an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary:

it shall be an holy anointing oil."

Exodus 30:22-25
