(11) Any food offering which you shall bring to Jehovah shall not be made with leaven. For you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of Jehovah made by fire.
(12)  As an offering of the firstfruits, you shall bring them to Jehovah. But they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet savor.
(13)  And every sacrifice of your food offering shall you season with salt. And you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your food offering. You shall offer salt with all your offerings.

(Leviticus 2:11-13)

Praise God!

* Leaven is fermentation, and honey or any sweet liquor is the cause of it.  These two things forbidden because there was no error or corruption in the Antitype (ie., Christ).  All was Divine perfection. Nothing therefore which answers to leaven may be in our sacrifice of praise now.

'But the hour cometh, and now is,
when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:
for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him
must worship Him in spirit and in truth.'

(John 4:23-24)

* Salt was and is the great antiseptic, preventing fermentation. As leaven and honey were forbidden in sacrifices, so salt is prescribed, because, when partaken of by two parties, it made 'the covenant of salt' invoilable, an indissoluble alliance  (e.g., Numbers 18:19;  2 Chronicles 13:5).  In Ezra 4:14 = obligations of loyalty.

(14) 'And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
(15)  And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.
(16)  And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.'
(Leviticus 2:14-16)

Praise God!

* Just as the word, 'baken,' in Lev. 2:4 typifies the sufferings and trials of Christ,
so the word, 'beaten' does also in verse 14

* A 'meal offering' is a gift offering. to secure favour.

Laws for the Peace Offerings:-

(1)  And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.
(2)  And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
(3)  And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
(4)  And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
(5)  And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.'
(Leviticus 3:1-5)

Praise God!

Note:
The peace offering could be either male or female:
not like the burnt offering of chapter 1:3-17, because it typified Christ.

@Christine :th_wave:Dear sister, I appreciate the info you have taken the time to post (along with the scriptures to shed light on them.) So beneficial.

As I read your posts, a couple NT scriptures came to mind. So I thought I'd share them (for what it's worth.:)) Hope it's a blessing.

On 3/27/2019 at 5:27 AM, Christine said:

a sweet savor to Jehovah.

"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish" (2 Cor 2:16)

On 3/27/2019 at 5:44 AM, Christine said:

And you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your food offering. You shall offer salt with all your offerings.

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." (Matthew 5:13)

6 “ ‘If you offer an animal from the flock as a fellowship offering to the LORD, you are to offer a male or female without defect.
7 If you offer a lamb, you are to present it before the LORD,
8 lay your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.

9 From the fellowship offering you are to bring a food offering to the LORD: its fat, the entire fat tail cut off close to the backbone, the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,
10 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.
11 The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering presented to the LORD.

14 From what you offer you are to present this food offering to the LORD: the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,
15 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.

16 The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering, a pleasing aroma. All the fat is the LORD’s.

17 “ ‘This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.’ ”

(Leviticus 3:16-17)

God would not permit the blood, that made atonement, to be used as a common thing (Hebrews 10:29), nor will he allow us, though we have the comfort of the atonement made, to assume to ourselves any share in the honour of making it. He that glories, let him glory in the Lord, and to his praise let all the blood be poured out.

Laws for Sin Offerings

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying,

If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done,

and shall do against any of them:

If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people;

then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned,

a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.

Leviticus 4:1-3
