Since the dawn of history mankind has misunderstood God.

Everything God has done with humanity was from love and for mankind's best interest.

We can see his grace, for example, as early as Genesis 3. God could have thrown in the towel... that's it you blew it... the ONE thing I told you not to do, and because your seed is now tainted I'm killing off humanity before it ever gets started... and look at how you've ruined creation with your sin!

Is that what happened?

No.

I think of God trying to reach humanity is not unlike Anne Sullivan trying to reach Helen Keller through the vast darkness and profound deafness.

Apply heat, poke two fingers into the hand. Repeat until understood. "Hot."

In the process, people portray God as mean, judgmental, unloving, bent on pounding humanity over the head and sending people to hell.

Just the opposite is true.

We have people in Christianity today who do the same thing without realizing it... in bringing the Old Testament into the New. The law was to establish the rules and the futility of trying anything but grace to be saved. Reject the grace or try to add to it or take away from it and the law is the only thing left... and none of us can stand up to the law. ← that's the point.

So here we are 1900+ years after the fact still trying to add legalism to Christianity and wondering why there are so many divisions.

1. Let God tell his own story.

2. Try to see things from his perspective.

3. Be amazed how much he cares for us.

Let's get one thing straight.  The God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament.  There was this couple in the New Testament called Ananias and Saphira.  God struck them dead for lying and attempted theft.  God struck down Herod for not giving God the glory.  God sentenced the rich man to hell for selfishness and greed.  Have you read Revelation?  Have you read the parable of the man that came to the wedding without wedding garments?

It is no wonder people have no fear of God, based on the OP.  God is a holy God, and as New Testament scripture says, "Be ye holy, for I am holy."

Me  oh my,     How come the GOD of the old covenant and new convenant , and who spoke through Holy men of GOD , prophets and recorded apostels

and The God who spoke from heaven n revelations ,    SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE THIS LOVE GOD I hear preached today .

I don't think it will take too many GUESSES to figure that answer out .  HOW come in the Bible that GOD expressed HIS LOVE

by sending the SON and by CORRECTION,   yet todays version of GOD taught by most is all about acceptance of rather than repentance from sins .

A hint.    IF the GOD you hear people speak of today,  SOUNDS WAY DIFFERENT than the GOD recorded in the bible ,    well lets just say the serpent sure likes to twist things .

1. Let God tell his own story.

2. Try to see things from his perspective.

3. Be amazed how much he cares for us.

Solution READ the BIBLE and Follow the SPIRIT and this is easily seen.

Rather odd that today Gods own story seems to come from the carnal minds of men.

and they see things from their own carnal perspective, get a goosebump and say ALAS I must be hearing from GOD

And how come todays version of GOD caring for us , seems to accept evil and not rather warn and reprove .

Cause the GOD I read about warned , WHY will YOU DIE ,  repent , REPENT

today its JUDGER , LEGALIST,   hater ,    if anyone even comes reminding about THE GOD and not rather just accepting this god of this worlds version

by whom it holds captive the hearts of the blind and says ........HEY YOU SEE , YOU SEE.............yet they don't therefore their sin remains .

It is a deception that is being preached. God is holy, and to anyone to be accepted and forgiven must REPENT and turn to the only true Lord and Savior: The Lord Jesus Christ.

To say YES to sin and the flesh is to say NO to God.

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." - John 3:19

Solution: Surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ, before it is too late.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13

Glory to God! Amen.

It may come a shock to some here but God is Love...not only love, but love nonetheless.

1Jn_4:8  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1Jn_4:16  And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

2Pe 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1Co 13:13  So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Exo 34:6-7  The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,  (7)  keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Psa 86:5  For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.

Yes the same loving God of the New Testament is that same loving God of the Old. Hopefully the fruit we bear will be a reflection of that love as we learn of His greatest attribute.

Just as a person has different sides to them, so does God.  In addition to love, we see jealousy, anger, wrath and justice.  He is even called a God of war.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  I can give example after example of reasons people should be terrified of God, based on things he has done in the Old and New Testament, and things he will do, based on prophecy.  The love message in the OP is a lie.  I can back up everything I said using scripture, but it would make one massive post.

God is love ...as well as just and holy. Do you call that a lie?

You didn't read what I said very carefully.  I said the love message in the OP was a lie, not what you said.

But you quoted me, why? I was rather affirming the OP?

What specific thing was a lie in the OP?

I quoted you because you were "rather affirming the OP."  The OP is trying to get us to stop looking at the acts of God in the Old Testament, as though they are not relevant to seeing God's nature.  That is a lie.  Everything God does isn't simply for our best interest.  It is because God is holy and has a divine order he expects us to follow.  Was it in the best interest of Ananias to strike him dead?  Of course not.  He sinned and was punished, as was his wife.

Legalism, the mythical sin has nothing to do with misunderstanding God's nature and giving him a bad rap.  The phony love message makes everything about us, like all God does is because of his love for us, even bad things, when often times, he smites someone because they anger him with their sin.  It is not all about us.
