Looks as though it is a historical piece based upon the crusades. I love period films! It is wonderful to think that the world could live in peace, but I don't think we will ever see that day due to groups like Hammas, Al Queda, the KKK, etc etc There are always going to be hateful people with hateful doctrine... Because there is no "fence" to sit on!!!!! Its more like a knifes edge, if you could stand on it you would definately be cut in two. I will watch it though there are many things about it that concern me. Firstly: "I think ultimately, he [balian] is a man on a journey. It's a coming-of-age story for a man who is on a journey of spiritual discovery, trying to understand the bigger questions in life, and the meaning of life and death." Looks a little too much like Baal or Baalan. Secondly I am concerned because the whole movie is fictional. It seems the whole movie is a platform for tolerance but with a "one world religion" undercurrent. It promotes some of Jesus teachings and leaves Jesus out of the picture. The church needs to get on the same page!!! And quit trying to be bedfellows with hollywood. It's sending a messed up message. I mean look at T.D. Jakes and his "R"-rated movie? What's with that??? If I don't go to see "R"-rated movies, I DON'T go to see R-rated movies........period!!! And when a supposed Christian starts making them, and a "leader" at that, then what are people supposed to believe??? What is going on here?
