Mustard Seed Faith

Matthew 17: 20~Talks about having faith the size of the mustard seed. That with this faith you can move mountains, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

This mustard seed quote is also in Mark 9:23 and Luke 17:6.

Since this precedes The Book of John, then does it mean that anyone whose faith is as small as a mustard seed, is Saved?

Or is this the action that one can do after they are saved, with the Faith in JC?

Let's look at:

Romans 12:3 .... according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

I'm taking this out of context, for good reason. I believe that a part of God that He breathed into Adam, was a part of Himself, namely, in this case, faith.

Here is a good definition of faith:

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The GOD kind of faith is centered in Christ. What proceeds from this kind of faith is life changing and often miraculous.

But "basic faith" is all that is needed to be saved. It is the same kind of faith that allowed the Tower of Babel to be built. It is the same kind of faith I have in the morning when I go to start my car, or even to believe I have yet another day coming.

All our lives are governed by "faith" of some sort, but "saving faith" is when you use the "small measure of faith that God has given you that enables you to believe in HIM.

In the parable of the Sower and the Seed (Luke 8:5-14) we can see an analogy drawn between salvation and the various types of soil in which the seed is scattered. The peoples of the world is the soil. Good soil is that person that upon receiving "the seed" receives it (by faith) and allows it to grow into a magnificent tree, one that will bear 100s of times over what was first implanted.

Now of course, this is the "God seed", "the Living Word". When it is received by faith, that is, our "measure of faith" is then placed in God, instead of things, others or ourselves. With this kind of faith, nothing is impossible for a Christian because He listens to God and does what he sees God doing, and God is the God of the impossible.
