As Christmas grew nearer, I kept hoping God would help me write a poem that would honor Him and bless others.

He did. :) So I am happy to share it with all of you now.

From The Cradle To The Cross

In awestruck reflection I thought of that day

That God came to earth in a marvelous way

Born of a virgin...a wonder to all

choosing to sleep in a mere cattle stall

The King of glory...no crown for His head

But one made of thorns is what He'd wear instead!

All of His splendor He counted as loss

No throne to sit on...He'd hang on a cross!

Up there in mockery they would suspend Him

He, our great Advocate...none to defend Him!

Sweet, in the manger...but scorned, on the tree

Bearing chastisement for you and for me

So while we praise Him on this Christmas day

Remember His birth was to give us a way

That we could see Heaven and new life begin

His birth led to suffering for all of our sin

He rose from the dead and defeated the grave

He came forth victorious who came here to save

The beauty of Bethlehem's bright, shining star

The darkness of Calvary seen from afar

The Lord's Resurrection completing His task

Salvation providing to all who would ask

Adored in a manger so long ago

The Word became flesh...His creation to know

So come let us worship the Savior above

Who entered our world on a mission of love

And let us tell others His gospel of grace

Making Him known to the whole human race

And while we take heed to our dear sisters song

let me remind us of a danger where many have gone wrong

For they travel in a direction where great darkness does lead

a place where no life is and we must not heed

she goes by a name and her path is so wide

her words are untested ,  weak and not tried

So let us cling only to Christ our King

and may all avoid the call of this wicked thing

For she hollers to one and she hollers to all

and thus let no lamb take heed to her call

For he ways are wicked and in her is no light

and against her vile lies must all the lambs fight

For all who do enter into her  wide broad gate

shall surely be lost and have sealed their fate

So what is her name that all must avoid

whose teachings have made our LORDS sayings void

Whose tower is huge in this big iron dome

None other than darkness and her name is Rome .

While this might scare away a few Catholics on the forum, I have to side with my own opinion and say, I agree. Rome almost took me one time too. And it wasn't pretty. But that's a story for another time.

I will comment on the OP next.

You be blessed skillet and praise the Lord .  its not in any way a message against catholics .   But it is a warning that must be sounded .   Its the system I warn against .
