deutronomy 21:15

"suppose a man has two wives and they both bear him sons .........."

does this show that god does not mind more than 1 wife ..........

i see that mosses's laws agrees polygamy......... but some of moses laws were changed by jesus.. like moses allowed divorse and jesus said no divorce ..........

so what about polygamy ...does jesus say anythng about it not being allowed .......

and if polygamy is not allowed if my muslim friend having 4 wives converts into christianity .. what does he do?

and one more thing in the old testment it is said that if a man dies then his wife shoould marry his brother.............so is that law ........??

1. The New Testament only forbids polygamy for Christian Bishops.

2. I think you are conflating 'divorce' and 'putting away'.

The NT clearly teaches one wife. No polygamy.

Where did you get that Leonard?

Timothy. "The Bishop must be the husband of one wife...." Nowhere else is monogamy enjoined specifically.

Grace to you,

To answer your question confused.

God ordained Marriage between Adam and Eve. One woman and one man.

The fact than men have twisted this through sin does not negate the Truth of the matter.

David had many wives and his Kingdom suffered because of his sin.

Look at what a child outside of the promise did for Abraham? Today your Muslim buddy is still engaged in this direct rebellion.

Peace,

Dave

Well how do you apply that to JACOB dr.LUKE? Should there only be 2 tribes in Israel? Should he have never married Rachael after he was tricked?

That is an interesting answer Leonard? Do you really believe that?

I would give you that Paul's instructions you site were given that Church officers were to be models for the congregation, not unique to themselves. Ephesians 5 and 1 Cor. 7 are pretty clear. Jesus doesn't have two churches.

I think the case of Jacob is unique, as he was not seeking to marry both of them.

So has God made an exception in the case of Jacob? Is he a respecter of persons? Does he bend His commands when it suits His purpose?
