Apostle's/Nicene Creed or Articles of Faith

I was just wondering Does your church use the Apostle's or Nicene Creed, or Articles of Faith?

Our church doesn't use any of the above-we have a doctrinal statement called "The 17 Fundamental Truths", it isn't something we refer to every service or even talk about much at all for that matter but is what we agree on as a denomination.

The Catholic faith uses it, {I was raised Catholic and made to memorize it} and the Presbyterians use it...still.

I love it. I think it's very accurate.

Apostle's Creed

(1) I believe in God the Father Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth

(2) And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

(3) Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary,

(4) Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

(5) He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;

(6) He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

(7) From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

(8) I believe in the Holy Ghost,

(9) The Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints

(10) The forgiveness of sins,

(11) The resurrection of the body, and

(12) life everlasting

WE BELIEVE...The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

WE BELIEVE...There is only One True God

Grace: When I was a little Catholic kid growing up on a military base, they made us memorize the Apostle's Creed by heart.

I wouldn't join any church if I had to memorize verbatim a list that long {whew!}

We don't have to memorize it either-just know our bible well enough to defend it.     I also remembered the Apsotles Creed and such-and although I've never been Catholic I can recite most of the rosary
