Relationship Religion says Jesus came to make bad people good. Jesus came to save anyone who believes in him. Religion says God help those who help themselves. Jesus says if you can help yourselves, I have died in vain. Religion sees people as the enemy. Jesus sees sin as the enemy. Religion says believing grace is dangerous. Jesus says grace is the cure for overcoming sin. Religion grades righteousness on a curve. Jesus grades righteousness on a cross. Religion makes God the boss and you the employee. Jesus makes God the father and you the son. Religion says only listen to, attend, and watch “Christian” things. Jesus says look for truth everywhere. Religion is fueled by fear and punishment. Jesus is fueled by love and mercy. Religion is safe and practical. Jesus is radical and unpredictable. Religion says if you obey God, he will give you life. Jesus says if you believe in him, you will have eternal life. Conclusion: Religion is just a man made concept that comes with traditions, laws, requirements and outward action to numb own's conscience to FOOL yourself into believing that he/she is accepted by God. Sorry, I cringe a bit when I hear 'accepted', as God chose us, jn15v16, we cannot choose Him, like most who think they get born again, after saying a 'sinners prayer', which is the false gospel. Being saved is over a lifetime of conforming to Christ's likeness, & gradually getting rid of self. So God only forgives His elect, when they sin.
